Meet Yuichiro Okamoto

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yuichiro Okamoto. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Yuichiro, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I’ve been feeling loveMichael Jackson when i was a young age, and I’ve been dancing for as long as I can remember, and I always wanted to be a dancer. And then I found my purpose when I was 21 years old.Actually I lost my dancer friend in 2021. His final words before he left this world were, “Please continue to be a dancer who can make people happy.”
I felt that I had to spend my whole life making those words come true. And I became convinced there that I wanted to spend my life as a dancer.
So my goal from now on is to become an artist’s tour dancer and excite people, making their lives more colorful.
And my biggest goal in life is to be a backup dancer for Janet Jackson.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’ve been focusing on man’s Rythmic gymnastics since I was in middle school.
It’s similar to dance, using music and rhythm, with six people performing in unison. It also involves individual
performances and is a sport that requires originality and beauty, with a points deduction system.
I have been honing many of my skills in men’s rhythmic gymnastics, especially acrobatics. I was also involved in creating performances, so I was always searching for the best way to present them. As a result, I was able to participate in the national tournament when I was a university student.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Of course, I think it’s better to spend a lot of time acquiring skills, but I also think it’s better to spend time on knowledge areas. This is because, from my experience, I believe that when you can receive knowledge and ideas from others that you don’t have, you can gain a more multifaceted perspective and become more creative. So I always try to get people’s opinions.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

The challenge I am facing right now is to improve my dancing skills and develop my own dance style. So I think I have to constantly refresh my mind and dance.
I am also facing the issue of my English ability. That’s why I’m always talking to people, trying to figure out how to sound like a native speaker.
