Meet Amy Barnhart

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Amy Barnhart. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Amy below.

Amy, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

My confidence and self esteem are driven by remembering my purpose, which is to share music that can guide people through life’s storms, transforming pain into beauty and struggles into moments of hope and empowerment. My goal is to help listeners believe in possibility. These goals pull me through my self doubts. Keeping that vision and purpose in mind, helps me continue to show up and each time I show up it gets easier and easier. I wont reach my goals by hiding or avoiding what scares me. Each new level feels like another glass ceiling to break through but when I do, I feel more and more confident.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m a heart-centered indie folk singer/songwriter. I envision a world where individuals are deeply connected to the truth of their hearts and guided by the wisdom of their souls, living lives filled with peace, joy, love, and delight. Through my music, I aim to inspire healing, empowerment, and belief in possibility, helping people overcome challenges and embrace wholehearted living. I will be releasing a 3-song EP called “We Always Make It Through” featuring a love song about weathering the challenges of a long-term relationship and working things out together. “Dragonfly” is an uplifting anthem encouraging us to go for our dreams. It’s never too late to rise up. “We Shared Music” is a poignant tribute to my mother’s life and how sharing music got us through life’s challenges.

I love connecting with my vibrant community of like-minded souls who cherish nature, mysticism, and mythology, fostering connection, support, and encouragement. Together with my audience, I hope to spark healing, inspire change, and create a ripple of love and connection in the world.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The first most pivotal quality in my journey have been to having the courage and conviction to be vulnerable and write songs from the truth of my heart. Sharing original music can be scary but the most moving music is the most authentic and the most relatable. Second, is to be always learning. I’m learning new songwriting techniques, new piano skills, new ways to play the guitar, better ways to express my voice, how to produce and record songs, how to reach and connect with an audience. Things are always changing so being able to learn and adapt is essential. Third, I love to collaborate and create community. These connections are an invaluable support system to help weather the ups and downs of building a business.
I’m so grateful for the collaborations and discussions that have inspired many new songs, new ways to market my music, new ways to take better care of myself and improve relationships. The gifts of community are endless.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I love to collaborate with other musicians and other folks marketing their businesses. I would love to collaborate with musicians that are interested in producing and recording music together. I enjoy people with can-do, positive attitudes and people who love to learn. I also really enjoy making a difference by helping others overcome challenges.
