Meet Celeste Gross

We recently connected with Celeste Gross and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Celeste , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from being a survivor. Everything I have I accomplished on my own so when I’m feeling low, I just look at my life and I remember that I survived 100% of all the challenges that have been thrown at me. in my opinion it does not kill you, it makes you stronger and we only grow in a hard moment so as much as I hate the hard moments, I know that I would come out them stronger then I was before.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My story begins in Brazil as one out of seven kids. We were born into a cult, called the family, also known as children of God. I left when I was nine years old and adjusting to the real world was incredibly hard. Fast-forward many years I was the first of my family to move to the United States and start my life from zero. I put myself through culinary school eventually became a very successful chef Los Angeles, California. I recently have moved to Florida and I’m going to the same challenges of starting my business again from zero. It’s been incredibly challenge and lonely, but I feel like I’m slowly getting on the other side. I’ve always be interested in multiple professions. I like to challenge myself and learn new things and I feel extremely bored doing the same thing repeatedly. My main focus right now is to continue to rebuild my chef career in South Florida and get the word out that a new chef is in town while also focusing on my African basket business that I just started three months ago. It’s not easy doing it all alone, but whenever things start working out is incredibly encouraging..

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

– trust yourself – don’t wait for others approval- your own approval and self confidence is all that matters.
– don’t take no for a answer – every NO gets you closer to the YES.
– remember we are all unique and have unique gifts to offer to the world so don’t compare yourself to others – comparison kills joy and self esteem.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m always looking for like-minded individuals to collaborate with.
In the culinary world, my dream would be to have my own cooking show where I share healthy 15 to 20 minute dinners with five ingredients or less – I’m extremely passionate about health and nutrition through food.
I would love to continue to expand my African basket business and would love to collaborate with individuals interested in selling them or marketing them.
In my personal life, my dream is to continue to share the story of how me and my siblings overcame adversaries and growing up isolated from the real world in a cult.
