We were lucky to catch up with Ann Baker recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ann, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I believe that some lives are defined by a single, unwavering purpose, while others are guided by multiple callings, each unfolding in its own time. I find myself among the latter. Throughout my life, I have felt the pull of purpose in many forms: from cheering on teams and leading debate groups, to raising three sons, improving supply chains for businesses, loving and supporting my husband, embarking on a journey of self-healing, and now, building a platform to become a voice for Mast Cell Disease and chronic illness as a whole. Each chapter has been a testament to the evolving nature of purpose and the profound ways it shapes us. Life has a way of leading us to these purposes if we pay attention. I pay attention.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
A commercial model’s purpose is to bring a client’s vision to life and help their brand succeed. I take pride in representing brands in a way that aligns seamlessly with their goals, and I truly enjoy the collaborative nature of these assignments. Each person involved brings a unique craft to the table, and witnessing these creative elements come together into a polished final product is nothing short of exhilarating.
Every shoot also provides an opportunity to make meaningful connections and learn something new. I actively apply these insights to refine my skills and bring even greater value to the next project.
These experiences also support my podcast, Beyond The Flare, where I aim to shed light on Mast Cell Disease and chronic illness as a whole. My hope is that through increased awareness, we can foster greater understanding and drive funding toward a cure. Currently available on YouTube, Beyond The Flare is my platform to amplify voices and create meaningful change.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resilience, Gratitude, Love
Resilience is essential to navigate life’s challenges, and there will be many along the way. We must cultivate the strength to rise after every fall. Equally important is gratitude—embrace it daily, not only for what you have but also for the prayers that go unanswered. Gratitude has the power to transform your perspective, revealing beauty and meaning in even the most unexpected places.
Above all, let love guide you. Love is the driving force behind every purpose I pursue, and when we act with love, we infuse our lives—and the lives of others—with intention, meaning, and light.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am always looking for meaningful collaborations and connections that will further my efforts to push my Mast Cell Disease platform or where I can be of help too. I can be reached via my website, www.Ann-Baker.com or directly my email: info@Ann-baker.com. Please be sure to mention this publication in your inquiry.
