Meet Mike Fox

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mike Fox. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Mike, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Confidence and self-esteem are truly a gem to keeping things going, even after the rush of the initial emotional motivation vanishes. I’ve also learned that there is a difference between confidence and arrogance, and daily run away from the latter. I’ve found my confidence comes from both knowing that I poured my passion into what I do, and the purpose of the end-game; knowing I hit the target – and also from my family. My wife and daughter are the glue and support to what I do – and in turn, reciprocated. The push, nudge and motivation to keep going gives that drive and esteem knowing my importance and role in their lives.

Whether it be designing a simple logo, or directing, writing a full length feature film, I know that both confidence and self-esteem come mainly from life’s experiences, hard work and perseverance to continue as they become the fuel for your direction and destination.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m thankful to be a multi award-winning designer, filmmaker, director, video editor, writer and much more. But all still within the parameters of a true family business. My wife, Trisha and daughter Arianna continually work in both our creative business as well as our filmmaking endeavors. And sometimes they go hand in hand.

Along with being the owner & CEO of Splash Designworks, a creative design agency as well as Crystal Fox Films, a film and video production studio in Delaware, along with my wife Trisha, and daughter Arianna, but also grateful to have directed, produced, written and edited three full feature films.

With over 25 Film Festival Awards, several shorts, tons of professional commercials, my goal is to bring vision to life. This includes everything from creating a brand, to being a visionary of storytelling.

I’ve been featured in several news and media outlets along with a myriad of interviews on podcasts and more. My goal is to impact, empower, and inspire through the media of creative, branding, film and video.

My professional work is known across the nation including having received numerous accolades and awards, featured on multiple publications and print, and several interviews as well. I’ve been named Top Pioneer & Entrepreneur by K.I.S.H. Magazine, acquired numerous awards from the prestigious Delaware Press Association (DPA), named Local Business Person of the year by Alignable 4 years in-a-row, and continue to speak and teach filmmaking, directing, creative design and businesses and various audiences.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Perseverance, determination and continued open-mindedness to adapt.

Don’t take the short-cuts if at all possible. Continue learning. Collaborate with like-minded professionals and always keep a balance on life and success.
