Meet Anna Khakhamyan

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anna Khakhamyan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Anna, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
About six years ago, I moved to the United States from Armenia. I had a solid background and work experience, including a Master’s degree in Psychology, which I had evaluated and qualified for here in the U.S. However, after working in various fields and different positions that didn’t align with my true interests, I experienced burnout and stress. I wasn’t doing what I loved, and it left me feeling overwhelmed. Many people around me suggested I should change my profession entirely, and even though I received various certifications and diplomas, I still couldn’t find my place. With over 12 years of experience working with children as a developmental psychologist and art therapist, I knew that helping kids express themselves creatively was where my passion truly lay. The joy and energy I received from these interactions became the foundation of my purpose.
One day, I decided to listen to my inner voice and took the bold step of quitting my job. I wanted to create a space where people—no matter their age, gender, or developmental skills—could experience joy through creative expression. That’s when I decided to open my art studio, a place dedicated to fostering creativity, fun, and personal growth.
The decision was risky, and many doubted me. They questioned whether such a space would succeed. Parents were often seeking more conventional activities for their children. But I believed in my instincts and in the power of creating a space full of love and positive energy. Over the last eight months, my studio has become a thriving hub of creativity, and I am proud of how far we’ve come.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
At 3C Workshop Studio, we focus on creating a welcoming and positive environment where people can explore their creativity and connect with their inner selves. It’s not just about art—it’s about providing a space where individuals of all ages feel comfortable, learn something new, and leave with a sense of joy and accomplishment.

What makes our studio truly special is the personalized attention we give to every event and workshop. We host a wide variety of activities, including clay crafting, doll-making, mosaic art, and more, all designed to encourage creativity and personal growth. In addition to regular workshops, we also organize unique events like birthday parties, seminars, and community gatherings, tailoring each experience to meet the needs of our attendees.

One of the most exciting aspects of our work is witnessing the transformation in our participants. Whether it’s a child proudly showcasing their handmade doll or an adult rediscovering their creative spark, these moments inspire us to continue growing and innovating.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Resilience
Resilience has been essential to my journey. Moving to a new country, starting fresh, and facing challenges—especially when I wasn’t aligned with my passion—was not easy. But resilience kept me focused on my vision. It allowed me to persevere through setbacks and keep believing in myself, eventually building something meaningful.

2. Empathy and Connection
Empathy is at the core of my work. As a developmental psychologist and art therapist, I’ve always believed that the power of human connection is essential. In my studio, that connection allows people to feel heard, valued, and supported. Whether it’s a child exploring their creativity for the first time or an adult rediscovering their artistic side, fostering connection is a core element that makes our studio unique.

3. Creativity and Vision
Creativity fuels everything I do. I envisioned creating a space where people could come together and express themselves artistically. Whether it’s through clay crafting, doll-making, or mosaic art, I wanted to build an environment where people could explore, make mistakes, and celebrate their growth. My deep belief in the power of creativity as a tool for personal growth has been fundamental to the success of my studio.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes! I’m actively seeking collaborations to expand the reach of our mission to foster creativity and inclusivity. I’m particularly interested in partnering with local schools and educational programs to bring creative workshops and art-based learning opportunities to students in the community. Additionally, I’m open to collaborating with other creatives or organizations that share a similar vision of empowering individuals through artistic expression.
I believe that art has the power to transform lives, bring communities together, and foster personal growth.
If you’re interested in joining forces or learning more about our work, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we can create something truly meaningful.
