Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anastasiia Gaines. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Anastasiia with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I developed my work ethic during my years working on branding and packaging in a managerial role, starting at the age of 22. That experience taught me the importance of learning quickly, staying creative, viewing products from the user’s perspective, and delivering exceptional results. These efforts often translated into significant profits for the brands I worked with.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a food and lifestyle photographer and videographer based in Los Angeles, specializing in creating visually compelling content for restaurants, cafes, and brands. My work combines creativity and storytelling to help businesses connect with their audiences through engaging visuals.
What excites me most about my work is the ability to bring a brand’s vision to life. Whether it’s capturing the perfect shot of a beautifully plated dish or producing a video that immerses viewers in the atmosphere of a restaurant, I love finding ways to showcase the unique essence of each client I collaborate with.
What sets my work apart is my background in branding and packaging, which provides me with a unique perspective. I approach photography not just as an art form, but as a strategic tool to help businesses grow and stand out. My goal is to deliver not only stunning visuals but also results that align with my clients’ objectives.
Currently, I am focusing on expanding my portfolio to include more high-end restaurants and luxury brands in Los Angeles. I am also planning a series of videos aimed at restaurant owners and marketers to help them better understand how to use photography to tell their stories effectively.
Every project I take on is an opportunity to push creative boundaries, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to work with incredible clients who trust me to represent their brands.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Flexibility: Being adaptable and open to change has been crucial for tackling challenges and delivering results.
Analytical Thinking:
Taking the time to analyze what works, what doesn’t, and how to improve has been key to growth.
Listening to Clients:
Understanding and aligning with your clients’ needs builds trust and ensures great outcomes.
Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
One of the challenges I’m currently facing is balancing creativity with efficiency. In the fast-paced world of content creation, it’s essential to deliver high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines. At times, this can feel like a balancing act between maintaining artistic integrity and staying productive.
To overcome this, I’ve been focusing on improving my workflows and time management. This includes streamlining the editing process, investing in tools that enhance efficiency, and planning projects with clear timelines. My goal is to ensure that every client receives the best possible work without compromising on quality or creativity.
While it’s a challenge, I view it as an opportunity to grow and refine my skills further.
