We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Devaughn Wilson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Devaughn below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Devaughn with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic comes from my grandfather i watched him growing up over there’s work hard even when he retired from his steal mill job he still work as a landscaper seeing him always active always put me in that type of mind set
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Well for starters I’ve been taking pictures since i was about 15/16 I’d say it started as just something to learn to keep my mind busy but then when i really started learning about all the things that go into photography i was instantly hooked from putting my very first film camera together from scratch to developing my own film and printing my own images everything just stuck with me and i loved it the process from start to finish making visions come true are always the best part
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Research for starters whatever it is you want to do in life always look into it to really see how it makes you feel then after you get the knowledge you have to find a understanding because when you first start something you may be not as good at it like you thought you’d be but that’s ok because that’s when the repetition part comes into the more you learn about your craft the more you use your craft will end up to perfecting it in your eyes but these things take time patience and effort on all fronts in life
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m looking for people who want to break the mold of the usual ways that portraits are took it’s always a box and frame that are always considered acceptable but for me i see outside the box to the point that i want to bring any and everything my mind and eyes see to life
