Meet Ashlee Marie

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ashlee Marie a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Ashlee, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Confidence and self-esteem didn’t come to me overnight—it was a journey rooted in faith, self-discovery, and resilience. Growing up, I experienced challenges that tested my sense of worth and identity. However, these experiences became steppingstones, teaching me the power of leaning into my faith, understanding my purpose, and embracing my unique journey.
One turning point was realizing the significance, relevance, and power both of my story and in my story. Writing Blessed and Bad 2 the Bone allowed me to reflect on the valleys I’ve walked through and how those moments shaped my calling. Through my faith as a Christian, I began to see myself through God’s eyes—worthy, capable, and loved—and that truth became the foundation of my confidence.

Another key was putting in the work to align my thoughts with that truth. Confidence is built daily. I immersed myself in biblical scripture, especially verses that reinforced my identity in Christ, and I let those truths guide me as I launched my coaching business, podcast, and programs like E.P.I.C. Every time I took a step of faith—whether it was speaking to an audience or mentoring someone through their challenges—I grew stronger and more certain in who I was called to be.

Lastly, I surround myself with purpose-driven people who lift me up and challenge me to keep going. This combination of faith, purpose, and intentional action not only built my confidence but allowed me to help others develop theirs. Today, I encourage others to believe that their setbacks can become their setups for a greater purpose.

Confidence isn’t about being perfect—it’s about trusting God’s perfect plan for your life and showing up authentically, knowing that you’re enough. If I can do it, so can you!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As a Faith-Based Leadership Coach, I’m deeply committed to growth—not just my own, but also the growth of those I serve daily. My journey is rooted in faith, family, and the power of resilience, and my heart cries out for those who have faced significant challenges and are still willing to fight the good fight of faith. With a heart-centered approach to leadership, I bring together practical strategies and a profound spiritual grounding, demonstrating that transformation is achievable when fueled by faith and perseverance.

At the core of my work is a commitment to guiding others toward personal, spiritual, and financial well-being. I believe that people can thrive, rebuild, and find renewed purpose after even the most difficult seasons. This unique approach focuses on helping others cultivate resilience, strength, and encourages them to turn pain into purpose.

The pillars amplify and emphasize conversations centered around wellness, impact, faith-based values, and empowerment through education. The message to ambitious believers is clear: it is possible to rebuild, reset, and find a new momentum in life. As the leader in this movement, I will demonstrate “faith in action,” as I inspire others to boldly overcome obstacles and step into a life filled with greater purpose and peace. Authenticity and practical application of faith are the cornerstones of my work and will continue to guide me in serving others.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Transformed from the Inside Out: Ashlee Marie’s Post Traumatic Growth Journey

Reflecting on the journey of personal growth and healing, these three qualities have significantly changed my life
—self-awareness, resilience, and faith—

Self-Awareness and Reflection:
Change always begins with YOU 🙂 As I started on the road to rebuild my new life for the third time in one year, I quickly realized that everything I needed was already on the inside of me. I stopped making excuses for why nothing was working out and got busy focusing on what was working and did more of that only. I emotionally addressed every internal and external factor that could possibly impact my future. By exercising self-awareness, I was better positioned to understand my own needs, triggers, and strengths, thus making me more receptive to the world I needed to shape with my words.

My Advice to You: Spend time learning yourself more than you know your kids, spouse, friends, boss, etc. Take a few moments after the noise of the day has settled and journal. Give yourself permission to breathe and think without resistance or reservation. I learned from a great friend to understand that self-care is not selfish it’s necessary. At the start of my days, I often engage in a daily practice of gratitude. I write down 50 things that I am glad I have in my life. I carefully note what’s going well in my life, why I believe it’s going well, and what I’ve learned to improve. I’ve also eliminated negative self-talk. This habit builds self-awareness and helps identify patterns in behavior and mindset.

Resilience and Willingness to Embrace Change:
Diamonds are transformed over time by extreme heat and pressure. What makes you think your transformation is any different? I’ve developed a level of emotional resiliency strong enough to produce beautiful carats; no allure lost. I transparently share my story openly LIVE online, at workshops, and leadership trainings. My #1 mission in life is to inspire change within others by modeling faith in action. Renewing of my mind allows me to navigate deep, dark, pits (Pathetic Invisible Traps) of despair, loneliness, and overwhelm. Subsequently, I openly embrace resilience and totally surrender. By exercising these principles, I am becoming a strong charismatic woman who speaks globally around the world.

My Advice to You: Never despise humble beginnings. Take one day at a time and do one small task that pushes you safely out of your comfort zone and strengthens your resilience. I challenge you to set one SMART goal per week and following through no matter what obstacles arise. Reframe your perspective about setbacks… start to see them as growth opportunities gradually building a firm foundation for even bigger transformations.

Commitment to Faith as a Foundation for Growth
I’ve established a strong connection in my faith, and I’m anchored in the worst of life’s storms. My business is my ministry, and I feel a renewed sense of purpose and fulfillment with anointing and supernatural strength.

My Advice to You: Establish a routine of sitting quietly to receive insight and wisdom. Make this a priority in your life. Cultivate a daily or weekly faith-based routine, whether it’s prayer, reading scripture, or attending a faith community event. This habit provides me with a steady source of comfort, guidance, and replenishment while fostering a sense of peace and purpose as I continue to soar.

Lastly, I will share that change is often rooted and founded in our emotions Commit to becoming the absolute best version of yourself unhinged, unapologetically, and without regret. Activating this level of faith can either be intimidating or awe inspiring. Ultimately, the choice is yours. Will you see it as jaw dropping and awe inspiring? This is by far the best qualities that have shaped my personal journey.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
Aside from the BIBLE, the most impactful and influential book to me is, ” Blessed and Bad 2 The Bone!”

I wrote and published this book in one of the most difficult seasons of my life. I vowed to anchor myself to this world and write a letter of encouragement and empowerment to my daughters. I chronicled the top 15 lessons that I’ve learned in this lifetime and paired it with a detailed prayer at the end of each chapter.

Each time, I connect with a new recipient of the book, I smile and think to myself, how amazing it is that we both get a chance to witness a miracle. The commitment and perseverance required to write and publish a book changed my life and will change the lives of others around the nation! I want to take a moment and say thank you to Shelly Lee of Pen. Paper. Publish for reassuring me that if I wrote it others would read it. That is all I needed to hear while contemplating which road to take in life.

Here are the key areas that were the most valuable and impactful according to the readers:
