Meet Lan Tran-Sellitti

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lan Tran-Sellitti. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Lan, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My parents immigrated to the US from Vietnam during the fall of Saigon in 75. They endured much hardship to get to the states and they weren’t even aware that they were headed there. I have seen them overcome a lot of discrimination, poverty and hardship but they persevered. They were entrepreneurs who were not afraid to jump in even though it was an industry they had no previous knowledge in and I learned alot through their experiences.

Growing up in that environment, I learned to not be afraid to try new things or pursue new activities and deal with issues as they come. I learned to keep trying despite discrimination and outside forces affecting me. My tolerance for hardship is pretty high and I feel that I can manage a lot mainly through the examples of seeing what my parent has gone through. I hope to be able to pass that on to my kids who are growing up in a completely different environment.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
