We recently connected with Danisha Keith and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Danisha, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I developed my confidence through a combination of personal and professional experiences. As an
entrepreneur, I've faced numerous challenges and rejections, which initially shook my self-esteem.
However, each setback taught me resilience and the importance of perseverance. Balancing a full-time
job while being a mom to three children, including one with autism, has further shaped my confidence.
It has forced me to be adaptable and resourceful in managing my time and responsibilities. I've learned
to celebrate small victories and focus on my strengths. Surrounding myself with supportive people has
also played a crucial role. Overall, my journey has been about embracing challenges and using them as
stepping stones to build my confidence."

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Danisha Keith, and I'm a proud mother of three wonderful kids: two boys and a girl,
aged 27, 7, and 5. I currently work as a judicial assistant for the Los Angeles Superior Court,
which has given me a stable career and a sense of purpose. However, my passion for fashion,
particularly children's apparel, has always been a significant part of my life.
As a mother, I often found it challenging to find stylish, affordable clothing for my children,
especially for my taller kids. Many options were either too expensive, ill-fitting, or simply not cute
enough to reflect their vibrant personalities. This frustration sparked an idea in me: why not
create a solution?
Thus, KayG Kids Boutique was born. I decided to launch an online e-commerce store that
focuses on providing trendy, affordable clothing for children, specifically in sizes 2T to 12Y. My
goal is to make sure that every parent can find cute, fashionable outfits that fit their kids
perfectly without breaking the bank.
Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to quality, KayG Kids Boutique has become
a space where parents can shop with confidence, knowing they'll find styles that their kids will
love. I'm excited to continue growing this venture and to share my love for children's fashion
with even more families.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Hmm, my top three qualities that are most important to develop would be: (1) Being resilient. To
be able to bounce back from setbacks and learn from failures is crucial. Entrepreneurship is
often filled with challenges an obstacle, but being resilient will allow you to navigate through
tough times while pursuing your goals. (2) Adaptability. Being adaptable allows you to pivot
when necessary. The business landscape is constantly changing. So, whether it’s adjusting
business model, or adapting to new trends, adaptability is key to staying relevant and
successful. Lastly, the third important quality to develop is resourcefulness. As an entrepreneur,
being resourceful will allow you to maximize your opportunities, be innovative, and overcome
challenges effectively.

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
I believe that one of the keys to success is recognizing and maximizing your strengths while
also addressing areas where improvements will need to be made. Personally, one of my
strengths is being resourceful, and utilizing my resources. I dedicate time to researching trends
and best practices, and I actively collaborate with others in the industry to learn what pitfalls to
try and avoid. This has been invaluable in navigating the challenges of running a business.
However, I also recognize that marketing is a significant investment in the children’s apparel
industry, and it’s an area where my business initially faced challenges. I was so fixated and
focused on being resourceful, I learned the hard way that it’s crucial to find cost-effective
marketing strategies that align with our budget. I had to figure out creative solutions on
leveraging social media and build partnerships that can enhance our visibility without breaking
the bank. In essence, I advise others to play to their strengths while also being open to learning
and investing in areas that will help them become more well-rounded. It’s all about finding that
balance and being strategic in your growth.
