Hi Jamie, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from a deep-rooted sense of purpose and the example set by my family, especially my father. Growing up, I watched him build his business from the ground up, overcoming challenges with determination and drive. That instilled in me a belief that hard work and perseverance can turn dreams into reality.

When I chose lashing, it wasn’t just a career—it was a calling. Lashing allows me to combine my passion for beauty with my desire to make women feel confident and empowered. Along the way, there have been obstacles—from mastering the technical skill to managing the business side—but every challenge has fueled my determination to keep improving and growing.

To me, success is about showing up every day, staying true to my values, and making a meaningful impact. Knowing that I’m creating something bigger than myself—whether it’s boosting a client’s confidence or building lasting relationships—keeps me going. And of course, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the unwavering support of my friends and family, who inspire me to push forward even on the toughest days.

Resilience, for me, is a mix of passion, purpose, and the example of perseverance I grew up with. It’s what allows me to tackle challenges head-on and build a life and business I truly love.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

As a lash artist and business owner for the past 4 years, I specialize in creating customized lash extensions that are as unique as the women who wear them. My specialty is long-lasting natural, wispy lashes, something I’ve worked tirelessly to perfect. I also offer a range of styles, from timeless Angel lashes to bold and dramatic mega volume sets, catering to the busy woman who wants to feel effortlessly beautiful every single day.

One of the best parts of being a lash artist is the relationships I am able to build with my incredible clients. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a client’s face light up when they see their lashes for the first time—or hearing how much extra confidence lashes gives them. For me, lashing is more than just a skill—it’s an art. It’s my way of combining creativity, expertise, and a personal touch to create something truly special. My studio is designed to be a sanctuary where clients can relax, unwind, and leave feeling their absolute best. Building lasting relationships and offering a luxurious, welcoming atmosphere are just as important to me as the lashes themselves.

I started this journey because I fell in love with beauty and wanted to create something meaningful. I was inspired by my dad’s entrepreneurial spirit and knew I wanted to build a business that reflected my passion and values. It hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has taught me something new, and I feel so grateful to do what I love every day. For me, success isn’t just about milestones; it’s about the little wins—like the trust my clients place in me and the connections we build.
As for what’s next, I have some exciting plans to expand my services later this year, and I can’t wait to share more soon!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back on my journey, I’d say the three qualities that were most impactful in getting me to where I am today are resilience, a commitment to learning, and the ability to connect with others. Each one has shaped not just my business but who I am as a person.

1. Resilience:
Starting a business, especially in an industry I was new to, wasn’t easy. There were so many moments where I felt overwhelmed—figuring out the business side of things, perfecting my lash skills, and learning how to navigate challenges I didn’t even know existed. But resilience kept me going. I reminded myself of my “why” during tough moments—my love for beauty, my desire to make women feel confident, and the drive to build a beautiful life for my family. My advice? Learn to embrace the challenges. They’re not setbacks; they’re opportunities to grow. Take a deep breath, remember why you started, and keep moving forward, one step at a time.

2. A Commitment to Learning:
Lashing is both an art and a science, and mastering it takes time and dedication. Beyond the technical skill, I had to learn about retention, styling, eye mapping, and the best products to use. Then there was the business side—marketing, bookkeeping, customer service—it’s a lot to take on! What helped me was staying curious and open to learning. My advice for anyone starting out is to invest in your education, both in your craft and in business. Whether it’s taking advanced courses, seeking out mentors, or learning through trial and error, prioritize growth. Remember, the more you invest in your skills, the more confident you’ll feel.

3. The Ability to Connect with Others:
This has been the heart of my journey. Building genuine relationships with my clients has been the most rewarding part of my work. It’s not just about lashes—it’s about making people feel seen, cared for, and confident. Creating a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere and truly listening to my clients has made all the difference. My advice? Focus on connection. People don’t just remember the service you provide—they remember how you made them feel. Be authentic, be kind, and prioritize building trust. It’s those relationships that will sustain you and your business.

For anyone just starting their journey, I’d say: stay patient, stay humble, and trust the process. It’s not always going to be easy, but every challenge will teach you something valuable. Focus on progress, not perfection, and don’t be afraid to lean on the people who support you. And most importantly, never lose sight of your passion—it’s what will carry you through and keep you inspired every step of the way.
