We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jessica Zenzen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Jessica with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
From a young age, I was determined to create my own path and build something meaningful. I started working at 14—not because I had to, but because I wanted to. My first job was detasseling corn in the fields of DeKalb, Illinois. It was tough work, but it taught me discipline, grit, and the value of perseverance. By 15, I transitioned into the service industry, which gave me a strong foundation in understanding people, communication, and what it truly means to serve others.
At the same time, I pursued my passion for music as a professional singer. Music taught me resilience in a way few other experiences could. The entertainment industry is filled with countless “no’s” and rejections, much like real estate and sales. But I’ve always believed that dreams are worth chasing, no matter how many setbacks come along the way. The lessons I’ve learned in music—persistence, confidence, and the importance of connecting with people—translate directly to how I approach my work today.
While balancing school and these pursuits, I also pushed myself academically. I took additional classes before and after school, allowing me to graduate high school as a junior. This accomplishment reinforced what I already knew: hard work and determination can lead to extraordinary outcomes.
My work ethic is also deeply inspired by my parents, who worked tirelessly—often putting in overtime—to provide a comfortable life for our family. Watching their dedication instilled in me a strong desire to create the same for myself and my loved ones.
Today, I combine all these experiences—my upbringing, my service industry background, and my music journey—to provide exceptional service to my clients. Whether navigating challenges or celebrating successes, I’m committed to going above and beyond to deliver results. I know the power of persistence, and I’m not afraid to go after what I believe in—for myself and, most importantly, for my clients.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a Las Vegas-based realtor with The Batchelor Hanna Group, specializing in residential real estate. My passion lies in helping people find not just houses, but homes—places where they can build their lives and create memories. What makes my work truly special is that I get to guide my clients through one of the most significant milestones in their lives. It’s not just about buying or selling property; it’s about helping people take that next big step with confidence and excitement.
My approach to real estate is deeply personal. I focus on building lasting relationships and providing exceptional service. I want my clients to feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for throughout the process. With 4 years of experience in real estate and a background in the service industry and music, I bring a unique blend of professionalism, creativity, and connection to my work.
What excites me most about what I do is the opportunity to make a real difference. Whether it’s helping a family find their dream home, assisting first-time buyers in navigating the process or marketing a property to sell above list price, I thrive on creating positive outcomes.
Outside of real estate, my journey as a professional singer has played a significant role in shaping who I am. Music has taught me resilience, creativity, and how to connect with people on a deeper level—qualities I bring to my work every day.
Currently, I’m excited about expanding my brand through social media by combining my music with content for selling homes, creating engaging and fun holiday guides, and getting more involved in local charities. I believe in using my platform to connect with my community and give back wherever possible. At the same time, I’m continually honing my skills to stay ahead in an ever-changing market, ensuring my clients get the best possible experience and outcomes.
Whether through real estate, community involvement, or my creative pursuits, my goal is to leave a positive impact on the lives of those I work with. I’m here not just to help my clients succeed but to inspire them to dream big and take BOLD steps—just as I have in my OWN journey.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, three qualities have been the most impactful in my journey: resilience, adaptability, and building genuine connections.
Resilience: Life, like any career, will present challenges, setbacks, and even moments of doubt. For me, resilience has been about learning to weather those moments, grow from them, and keep moving forward. Whether it was facing the many “no’s” in my music career or navigating the ups and downs of real estate, I’ve learned that success is rarely a straight line. For those starting out, I’d advise embracing failure as a teacher. Every setback is a stepping stone to something greater if you’re willing to reflect, adapt, and persist.
Adaptability: The world is constantly evolving, and so are industries like real estate. From mastering new technologies to staying ahead of market trends, being adaptable has helped me thrive. My advice is to stay curious and always be a student of your craft. Don’t shy away from change; instead, lean into it. Take courses, read books, network, and be proactive in developing your skills.
Building Genuine Connections: People are at the heart of what I do, whether it’s a client searching for their dream home or a fellow professional in my network. I’ve learned that success is deeply tied to how well you understand, care for, and connect with others. My advice? Listen more than you speak. Show up authentically, and always aim to provide value to those around you. Relationships built on trust and sincerity will carry you further than any sales tactic ever could.
For those early in their journey, my biggest piece of advice is to stay committed to your vision while being open to the lessons the journey will teach you. Surround yourself with mentors, peers, and resources that uplift and challenge you. And remember, every step—no matter how small—counts toward building the life and career you dream of.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
The past year has been a game-changer for me. I’ve transitioned from simply finding my footing in real estate to confidently stepping into my role as a trusted advisor and advocate for my clients. When I started, I was eager to learn everything, but in the last 12 months, I’ve honed my focus and discovered what truly drives me: making a lasting impact on people’s lives. Moving up to one of the Top producers of The Batchelor Hanna Group.
One of the biggest shifts has been in my mindset, thanks to the mentorship of Jillian Batchelor and Daryl Hanna. They’ve helped me see the bigger picture—how to turn my passion for real estate into a thriving business while staying true to my values. Their advice to “never let fear stop you from asking for the business” has stuck with me. I’ve embraced that fully, and it’s made all the difference.
I’m the agent who isn’t afraid to pick up the phone—whether it’s to check in with a past client, follow up with a lead, or negotiate fiercely on behalf of my buyers and sellers. But I’m not just making calls; I’m building relationships. Every interaction is an opportunity to show someone that they matter and that I care about their goals as much as they do.
What I’m most proud of is how my clients feel at the end of our journey together. I’m not just helping people buy or sell homes; I’m giving them peace of mind, excitement for their future, and trust in someone who’s truly in their corner. That’s why I’ve already kicked off January 2025 with five properties in escrow—I’m committed to delivering results without losing the human connection.
This year, I’ve grown into the agent I’ve always aspired to be—someone who combines hard work with heart, and persistence with purpose. As I look ahead, I’m excited to keep building on that foundation, embracing new challenges, and continuing to create raving fans one client at a time. I have so much more growth ahead and I am greatful to everyone who belives in me. Remember you have to believe in yourself too!
