We recently connected with Kirsten Womack and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kirsten, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?
I developed the ability to take risks by hanging out with, watching and learning from my father. He was an incredible example of courage and perseverance. As a Black man in spaces where he was often the only one, he boldly pursued his passions and defied societal norms. He was an organic farmer in the 1970s—long before it was a trend—working tirelessly to grow and nurture vegetables in a way that honored the earth. Beyond that, he was a barber, a hunter, a fisherman, and raised horses. My father’s willingness to embrace challenges, carve his own path, and stay true to his values taught me that taking risks isn’t about fearlessness—it’s about moving forward despite the fear. His example continues to inspire me to take bold chances in my own life.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Along with my husband Clarence “Mack” I’ve embraced a lifestyle centered on freedom and adventure as full-time RVers. Our mission is to inspire others to live life on their own terms by sharing our journey, tips, and guidance for transitioning to and thriving in the RV nomad lifestyle.
What excites me most about this journey is the opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life, explore the beauty and diversity of our country, and share the lessons we’ve learned about creating a life of peace and freedom. Through social media, coaching, and digital resources, we help midlife couples see that it’s never too late to embrace change and start a new chapter.
We teach people the practical side of the nomad lifestyle—like managing finances, choosing the right RV, and navigating life on the road—while also emphasizing the importance of crafting a life that aligns with their dreams and values. Our mantra, “Live Now,” reflects our commitment to helping others take bold steps toward the life they truly want.
This year, we’re expanding our reach with exciting new resources, including a digital guidebook, and coaching services for those ready to adopt the RV lifestyle. We also plan to grow our blog and dominate the military campground space on social media, offering valuable insights and building a supportive community.
We’re living proof that it’s possible to rewrite your story at any stage of life, and we’re here to guide and inspire others to do the same.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Adaptability
Life on the road is full of surprises—whether it’s unexpected weather, mechanical issues, or changing plans. The ability to adapt and stay flexible has been key to thriving in this lifestyle. My advice for those just starting their journey to living life on their own terms is to embrace change rather than fear it. Practice seeing challenges as opportunities to grow, and develop a mindset that welcomes the unexpected.
Challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone regularly. Take on new experiences and reflect on how you navigate them
Resourcefulness
Living a nomadic lifestyle requires you to make the most of what you have, from managing space in your RV to finding creative solutions for day-to-day needs. It’s about thinking on your feet and finding joy in simplicity. No matter what your path, I recommend focusing on problem-solving and learning to navigate situations with the resources that you have.
Practice simplifying your life. Declutter, learn DIY skills, and find ways to repurpose or reuse items you already own.
Vision
Having a vision helps you set goals, stay motivated, and make decisions aligned with your values. For those starting out, take time to define what “living on your own terms” means to you. Visualize yourself living the life you desire. Surround yourself with people that support your vision, and don’t be afraid to adjust your journey as you learn and grow.
Create a vision board or write a mission statement for your life. Revisit it often and use it to guide your decisions. Limit your exposure to those that attempt to cloud your vision.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My biggest area of growth has been redefining my focus and fully embracing the RV nomad lifestyle, not just as a way of living but as a platform to inspire and educate others. Transitioning from a health-focused brand to becoming a guide for those seeking freedom and adventure has required a mindset shift, adaptability, and a deep dive into understanding the needs of midlife couples who dream of living life on their own terms.
This growth has been fueled by creating engaging content, such as reels showcasing our travels, tips for nomadic living, and insights into the RV lifestyle. I’ve also expanded my skill set by developing resources like our upcoming guidebook and offering coaching to help others transition to this lifestyle. Each new venture has pushed me to be more innovative, organized, and confident in sharing my experiences with the world.
I’ve improved in storytelling and connecting with others through social media. From capturing the beauty of destinations like Horseshoe Bend and Pikes Peak to sharing the practicalities of RV travel, I’ve honed the ability to blend inspiration with actionable advice. This has allowed me to create a meaningful connection with others who aspire to live life on their own terms
This year of growth has not only deepened my understanding of the nomadic lifestyle but has also strengthened my ability to lead and inspire others to take control of their lives and embrace the freedom that comes with living life on their own terms.
