Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amanda Chapman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Amanda, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic was built on the foundation my parents laid for me. They were my first examples of dedication. My dad, a firefighter in Atlanta, and my mom, an anesthesia tech at Emory Hospital, worked hard to provide for our family while instilling values that stick with me to this day. When I got my first job at just 13—thanks to my mom helping me land a receptionist role at a hair salon—they sat me down for a talk that I’ll never forget.
They taught me the fundamentals that shaped how I approach work today: show up early, understand your role and responsibilities, give it your best effort, and when you think you’ve hit your limit, push further. My dad’s advice stuck the most: don’t half-step. If you’re going to do something, commit fully—no shortcuts, no excuses.
Now that I’ve grown and matured, I’ve added another layer to my work ethic. One of my favorite scriptures, Colossians 3:23, says, “Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others.” That verse keeps me grounded. When life feels overwhelming or distractions creep in, it reminds me of the bigger picture. My work isn’t just about me or even my clients—it’s about something greater.
By showing up fully and giving my all, I know I’m helping my clients step into their God-given purpose. That’s what drives me: knowing that every effort I make has the power to create lasting impact—not just for today, but for what’s to come.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I wear a lot of hats—so many that at first glance, people might think they’re the same. But they’re not. Each one comes with its own unique roles and responsibilities, and that’s what makes my work so exciting and meaningful.
I’m the proud owner of I Am ART Agency, a full-service branding agency based in Decatur, GA. At its core, my role is about serving as a creative director and brand strategist. What does that mean? It means I work hand-in-hand with businesses to build powerful brand strategies that bring their visions to life. Together, we uncover their brand’s culture, voice, tone, look, feel, and target audience. We dig into what truly connects their audience to their brand on an emotional level.
We also dive deep into creating customer personas—identifying ideal customer demographics and psychographics—so we can refine the customer journey, the brand’s identity, and its marketing strategies. And when it’s time to bring those strategies to life, my creative direction kicks in. That’s where I help turn those insights into visuals that tell a story, from logos, colors, and fonts to websites, social media content, and imagery.
For me, branding and creative direction are so much more than a job—they’re a chance to transform businesses in ways my clients often never imagined. Helping a client see the bigger picture and the untapped potential of their brand is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Watching their confidence grow as they discover how their business can make an impact? That’s priceless.
What I love most is the collaboration. We don’t just work for our clients; we work with them. Every step of the way, we prioritize a human-centered approach, making sure our clients feel heard and involved. We also educate them on the importance of branding and strategy, demonstrating how it’s not just a “nice-to-have” but a game-changer that sets the stage for their business and creates that unforgettable first impression with their audience.
No matter where a client is in their business journey—whether they’re a startup finding their footing, a small business ready to grow, or an established brand in need of a refresh—we meet them where they are. Our mission is simple: to empower them, set them up for success, and help them build a brand that inspires and thrives.
At I Am ART Agency, we don’t just create brands—we create possibilities, confidence, and lasting impact.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Integrity, genuine connection, and turning setbacks into opportunities have been the foundation of my journey. I truly love connecting with people and helping them succeed—that’s what drives me. For me, it’s personal. I treat people the way I’d want to be treated because I know how it feels when others take advantage of you, and I’m committed to making sure no one else feels that way on my watch. If I have access to a resource, connection, or opportunity that could help someone on their journey, I share it—no hesitation. And honestly, that mindset has opened more doors than I ever imagined.
Growing up working in retail and retail management taught me the power of customer service. It’s simple: listen, figure out what people need, and deliver. That approach has stuck with me. “No” doesn’t stop me; it motivates me. A no means there’s room to grow. It makes me ask, “Why not? What do I need to learn or improve to turn this no into a yes?” That mindset has taught me more than I ever thought possible.
If there’s one piece of advice I can share, it’s this: listen carefully, stay open, and don’t be afraid to go the extra mile. Stop comparing your journey to anyone else’s—your path is uniquely yours, designed specifically for you. You bring something to the table no one else can, and that’s your superpower. Embrace it, own it, and let your journey unfold in the way only you can.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Thank you for asking such a thoughtful question!
One of my biggest goals for 2025 is to build powerhouse teams for both of my businesses. For my full-service branding agency, I dream of collaborating with creative collectives from across the globe, transforming it into a dynamic, floating branding agency that knows no boundaries. For my fashion brand, House of ADNAMA, I’m focused on building a core team in Georgia while also staying open to working with talented individuals nationwide or overseas for special projects.
To bring these visions to life, I’m seeking extraordinary people defined by integrity, creativity, leadership, and a spark of optimism. I’m looking for visionary thinkers who can see beyond the obvious, paired with honesty, transparency, and a hunger for new challenges. If you’re someone who’s ready to learn, open to guidance, and always leads with discernment and strong listening skills, you might just be the perfect fit.
I want to collaborate with quick-witted, well-connected individuals who thrive in team settings. Whether your expertise is in computing, mathematics, sociology, psychology, or creative problem-solving, your skills are valued here. Exceptional interpersonal skills? Strong judgment? A great sense of humor? Even better. I’m drawn to people who think outside the box, embrace curiosity, and adapt to anything life throws their way.
Key qualities I admire? Outgoing personalities, crystal-clear communication, and a diversity of abilities. I’m looking for kind-hearted, loyal people who cherish collaboration but can also step up as leaders when the time calls for it. A sense of responsibility, accountability, and an unwavering drive to pursue big goals is everything.
When it comes to specific roles, here’s who I’m looking for:
Brand Strategists, Digital Marketing Managers, Social Media Analysts, Web and Graphic Designers, Animation Designers, Packaging Designers, Photographers, Videographers, Creative Director Assistants, Account Managers, Project Managers, PR Representatives, and Chief Technology Officers.
For House of ADNAMA, I’m also on the lookout for skilled tailors, sewers, designers, artisans, painters, and crafters who live and breathe their craft. Expertise in areas like user experience, scaling, sourcing, technology, teaching, presenting, and administration is highly valued. Strong communication, strategic thinking, and the drive to bring ideas to life will set you apart.
At the end of the day, I’m searching for talented, passionate people ready to share their gifts, collaborate with purpose, and help shape the future of these brands. If you’re someone who believes in the power of creativity, community, and bold ideas, let’s connect. Submissions are welcomed by completing an application at: https://www.iamart-agency.com/careers
