Meet Ava Stepnock

We recently connected with Ava Stepnock and have shared our conversation below.

Ava, so happy to have you with us today. You are such a creative person, but have you ever head any sort of creativity block along the way? If so, can you talk to us about how you overcame or beat it?

Creativity Blocks are something that always occur in my job. It’s hard to not get bogged down by what others are creating. For me the best way to cure my creativity blocks are by going for walks and simply disconnecting from social media or my phone. This helps me to reset, realize why I started my business and what drew me to design as a full time job. Escaping the competition from social media truly allows me to reset and remember why I love design.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Founded in 2018, Hall Creative Co. is a creative studio specializing in custom wedding invitations, stationery, and design. I strive to create unique, one-of-a-kind, budget-friendly designs for each and every client. Bringing your vision to life is my goal.

My name is Ava and I am the leading (and only) lady behind Hall Creative. I call the beautiful and city of Milwaukee home with my husband Vinnie, our two sons Will and Oskar. Growing up in a family of creatives I have always had a love for all things art and design. I graduated from the University of WI, Milwaukee with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History. Since graduating from college I worked as a Senior Designer for seven years creating corporate marketing materials. It wasn’t until I was asked to design a friend’s wedding invitations that I knew I needed out of the corporate world and thus, Hall Creative Co. was born.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I believe that studying art from a professional setting such as school really gave me the knowledge to turn it into a full time job. The love and passion for art has always been a part of my life.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

Finding myself as a boss and allowing myself to feel confident in the successes I have created and accomplished for myself.
