Meet Christina Diamond

We were lucky to catch up with Christina Diamond recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Christina , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I was born in Barbados and having parents from the islands, that don’t know anything outside of hard work and determination, it’s hard not to have a work ethic to match. I think knowing that they were both unstoppable it has helped mold me into the woman i am today. Surely failure has not, will not and is not an option.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Christina Diamond was born and raised in Barbados and began calling Atlanta, Ga her home at a young age and has become a powerhouse ever since her move. Business wise she is a licensed cosmetologist as well as the CEO and proud owner of Diamonds Elite Hair and Beauty. This is her complete haircare and beauty line. Christina has been one of Atlanta’s top influential hairstylist within the city for over 10 years and has no plans of letting up. Simultaneously she has co founded a new femme inclusive agency as the director of Fashion and modeling coach at Femme X Project.

Slay the runway you say? Breaking barriers in the hair industry isn’t the only thing Christina does. For over six years Christina has been able to bless the runway and commercial photography advertisements 50 plus times and counting. Her consistency and simple yet candid approach to such a task has been admired all over the world. Proving that success and structure run throughout her veins and she is ready to show others how to do the same.

While the recently launched Femme X Project has kicked off, there will be numerous upcoming events to include casting calls. You can find out more info by following IG on @femme.X.project and @theofficialChristinaDiamond

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I believe that some of the most impactful qualities have been persistence, education, and being pro-active vs re-active.

Persistence in my personal, professional and overall being has gotten me to this current focal point in my life. I had to understand that there is no success without trial and failure…and what separates the two…is persistence. Failure isn’t an option and so my advice to anyone trying to simply find their way would be ; just because one door didn’t open that doesn’t mean not to go knock on other doors. Be persistent and take your losses, evaluate the situation, adjust, and get back in the saddle. Another door is sure to open.

That brings me to my second life skill which is education. Educate yourself on what you want to know and don’t be afraid to ask questions. There’s a saying that says “You don’t know what you don’t know”. There are so many available resources to include social media that can help you along your journey.

Pro-active vs Re-active is just that. If you are ready, you don’t have to get ready. As often as I’m sure you’ve heard it said it’s absolutely the truth. Pro-active is finding events that you want to be apart of and becoming vendors or contacting the right personal to get your products where you want them to be opposed to watching everyone do what you want to do from the sidelines.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
We are always looking for like companies to collaborate with. Companies with empowering missions and beliefs that we can stand behind. We believe in the empowerment and representation of womxn, and we will proudly stand next to anyone else that shares those beliefs.
