We recently connected with Francesco Antonio and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Francesco , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
As a kid I watched my entire family work hard to put food on the table. By the time I was 6, my grandfather would bring me out to work construction, so he could teach me the value of hard work. I was always motivated to earn and take care of those around me and until this day I would argue that my hustle is unmatched.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am an actor, recording artist and entrepreneur. I have been in several projects on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and on Network TV but my most notable projects would be WAYNE on Prime Video which was named one of the top streaming shows of 2019 by LA Times and my newest movie VANDITS slated for US distribution this year. As a recording artist I signed to DKO MUSIC which was founded by recording breaking rapper SNOW who is most known for his hit single informer which was later remade into Con Calma with Daddy Yankee and Katy Perry in 2018. Snow and I dropped our first single titled Together with Warner Music and recently I released my debut single HELP with Sony Orchard. As an entrepreneur I am a partner in 3 media/film/production companies as well as an international fitness program and supplement called Apex Fit.
Now, I am just finished shooting a guest star on a popular tv show and now getting ready to star in a new video game shooting in Canada, I have new music coming out this summer and my film company has now 5 projects in pre production. My fitness company is set to launch fall 2023 and will be available worldwide.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Consistency is number 1. If you set a goal you want to accomplish you need to be consistent in working towards it. I believe that if you keep working towards your goal you will eventually make it happen.
Perseverance is key. During your most difficult moments you can NEVER give up. You do not know how close you actually are and it was those times I didn’t give up that led me even closer to where I am.
Some business sense is important. I took time to learn about the industries I am in and the business of them. You cannot succeed in your career if you don’t know the business!
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
I am always facing obstacles, rejection and unforeseen circumstances. Currently, it could be a job I didn’t get or a month we didn’t do so well or a deal that didn’t go through. But I remind myself that success is non linear, it is like a crazy roller coaster. If I want to do what I love, if I want to make it to the top in my industries, I need to roll through the bad times and keep chasing the good ones. One major thing I now do, is when I am overwhelmed or facing a difficult decision, I take a step back and give it a day to think on my decision. Impulsive decisions never prove to be the wisest.
