Meet Julia Jordan

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Julia Jordan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Julia, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My parents come to mind first… they both worked outside of the home as well as ALWAYS having a project going on. When I was younger they invested in real estate and flipped houses. My parents exuded the expectations they had for us and I followed in their foot steps. I feel like a good moto for them would be that good work never goes to waste.

My husband has a huge impact on my work ethic as well. He is highly
Motivated and always seeking ways to improve in his career and personal life. We both strive to put our family first and show them that hard work pays off

I also  have a Fabulous group of girlfriends who all aim to be the best version of themselves, we cheer each other on through our wins and lift each other up through the tough times. These women push me to continue on and motivate me to always strive for excellence.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

The Bougie and Company was started due to my love for throwing and hosting parties. We are always hosting a gathering at our house and what’s more fun than balloons at a party. We started small with a White bouncy castle that grew into balloon garlands and so much more. Every installation I feel like I gain more confidence to expand this business. This Party industry is extremely fulfilling and when the client lights up after the final touches have been made, that is when I know all the hard work is worth it.
We offer a variety of party décor from White bouncy castles, balloon garlands, photo ops, birthday balloon bouquets, and Marquee light rentals.
We love getting new inquires , the sky is the limit for us.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Some of the most impactful skills I have learned through this journey have been patience, effort,  and time management. I stated patience first because this skill does not happen overnight, it took many months and even years to gain the confidence and knowledge to continue improving my skills. There have been many nights I was up researching how to perfect a balloon wall or how to make a balloon rainbow, which is one of my favorite installs. Effort is next because if you do not put in the time to continue practicing and pushing yourself you seem to go backwards. I find that I do my best installs when I am extremely busy and have to really focus and manage my time wisely.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

My husband has been the most impactful when helping with this business. He hand builds me many of my backdrops and marquee lights … even when its last minute, he always gets the job done. He has been my rock in helping out with our two young boys through all this. Even when our weekends are packed with hockey and 3 balloon installations we manage to get it all done together. I would not be where I am today without him.
