We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alxne a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
ALXNE, thank you so much for making time for us. We’ve always admired your ability to take risks and so maybe we can kick things off with a discussion around how you developed your ability to take and bear risk?
At a very young age, me and my mother got evicted from our house. I had to stop going to high school dropout freshman year and get a full-time job and I wasn’t even a legal adult yet. After a few weeks of sleepless nights in my mom’s car, no shower little to eat, I made a conscious decision to move to Florida, where I embrace the EDM music industry, and met a lot of rave producers. Taking big leaps of faith was kind of my signature move. I wouldn’t be who I am today if I wasn’t a high risk high reward type of personality.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a full-time musician and executive producer. I have worked on a lot of projects from well known local artists in the Boston, florida, and Houston scenes. I believe i help people achieve there dreams while also providing a type of therapy that you cant get from just purchasing a “service” online. Its all about the real when im in the room. Whats the goal? Whats the vision? These are all questions that matter. How much? How long? These are all questions that do not matter in the creative process. I truly believe i qualify as one of the most passionate producers you know. I have performed along side award winning artists, for huge music festivals, and been on tour across the country. Im confident in my work and im confident in my team
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Learning how to utilize pain. Pain is good and struggle makes us stronger. Im a huge aldous huxley fan. As well as many similar philosophical ideologists, i embrace what presents itself as information and try not to complain or over criticize things. I live by one important saying. “Everything thats happening is happening FOR you not TO you” and that mind set alone lead me to free my mind of fear. Because now i face things with anticipation of growth, knowing whatever happens i will always learn from it
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
My guitar playing for sure. Everyday i improve i open up more opportunities for hired gigs and shows. Its truly gave me so much to look forward to in my future. I used to stay simple and not challenge myself. Now all i do is play the hard riffs that take forever to learn, or im trying new ways to play new styles and just overall being a more versatile musician. Ive been learning other instruments too which just helps me express myself more in other ways
