Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tyriek A. Murphy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Tyriek A., so happy to have you on the platform with us today and excited to chat about your lessons and insights. Our ability to make good decisions can massively impact our lives, careers and relationships and so it would be very helpful to hear about how you built your decision-making skills.

As a young child growing into an adult, as a novice worker growing into a multi-entrepreneur, the attributes that shaped my decision-making skills were: self-awareness, self-analysis, consistency vs. inconsistency, and a good SWOT analysis.

These four (4) components must be fully evaluated to ensure my best decision outcome, thus, the reason why I have been able to successfully formulate personal and professional relationships without any frequent negative setback.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

As the CEO of Murphy Enterprise Solutions (MES), which is a multifaceted Business Management and Consulting entity, formed in 2016, geared towards organizational implementation and enhancement, it brings me tremendous pleasure to lead a company designed to deliver multiple services and products across various public and private sectors which will ultimately enhance society’s comfortably.

In most recent years, while employed as an Administrator at NYC Health and Hospitals / Elmhurst, a Level I Trauma Facility within New York City, the daily objective, before, during, and after the global pandemic of 2020, was to effectively oversee the Patient Transportation Department. Simultaneously, I conducted CWA 1180 Labor Union business as a Certified Shop Steward.

Presently, among other essential facets of MES, I directly monitor the section within MES that provides youth athletes, from Elementary to Secondary Schools, the unique opportunities to excel in training and marketing themselves in the sports world, particularly football. My oversight led to the Uncommon Excellence Boys Varsity Football Team winning the 2023 Uncommon School League Championship and the Junior Varsity Team making the 2023 League Playoffs. All accomplished with scholars who were on High Honor Roll or Honor Roll Academic Status, in which one, of the multiple scholarship earners, 2023 Scholar (my son) earned a full scholarship to a high-quality Private Prep. High School in Pennsylvania. Additionally, as a Nationally Certified Interscholastic Coach for Grades 6 – 12, no player under my direct supervision has ever been hurt or injured to the point the scholar-athlete missed a practice or game.

I have earned a Master Degree in Public Administration, with a focus in Organizational Operations & Policy Implementation, and a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts, conducive to the area of Social Sciences and Criminal Justice.

Moreover, I have led a variety of multifaceted teams within the Education, Healthcare, Retail, Social Services, Transportation and Department of Corrections industries, to name a few, tasked with implementing modern trends towards entity innovation within various operational settings. Becoming one of modern eras prominent Serial Entrepreneurs and Senior Executive Administrators is a fixed goal.

Additionally, my talents have led to me being an Internationally recognized Author of the iconic sports literary piece entitled, “Big City Nights: The Biography of the Legendary Cisero Murphy”. In which this book was adapted into a 129-page, 27x Foreign and Domestic, Award-winning Screenplay titled, “Big City Nights: Cisero Murphy Saga”. The whole entertainment theme is to depict the true life story of Cisero Murphy, the world’s only African American Professional Billiards World Title Winner and BCA Hall of Fame Inductee. The screenplay has current well known working film and musical talent interested in participating in the project. The last written literary concept is in the final stages of completion, the book name is “MURPHY vs. murphy” and should be published between Spring 2025 and Fall 2026.

MES is brokering a deal with First Priority Trucking to provide short and long haul transportation of goods and products from the East Coast to the West Coast for small and large entities.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three (3) most essential qualities I have developed to be the impactful individual on this journey within society can be best depicted as a Charismatic, Transformational, and Transactional Leader. Most often, when others have been tasked with evaluating my capabilities in a survey I am frequently described as a Charismatic Leader.

My cunning ability to motivate my Employees and/or Scholar-Athletes to push pass their perceived ceiling and to maximize their fullest potential while simultaneously doing it with humor often generates success. Although many people have their own path to take to developed their future, one must always self-evaluate repeatedly to ensure they are addressing any deficiencies within.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

Ideally, when a person gets overwhelmed its because they do not properly time manage. Generally, when the overwhelm bug hit me, I was multitasking major projects and was so focused on efficiency that I missed simple items due to lack of sleep. The biggest piece of advice is getting adequate rest so you are fresh and on point to whatever your task or activity is that needs to be completed.

In a nutshell, my personal strategy is to rest and relax with the purpose to refocus, with a fresh outlook and time management I efficiently and effectively get my agendas solidified which results in less overwhelming moments.
