Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Anna Madewell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Anna, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
For as long as I can remember, I have always been easily motivated by exciting creative pursuits or opportunities to challenge myself. From running endurance during cross country to disciplining myself in school for honorable mentions, I have always enjoyed stretching my limits as a little girl. Although one experience that really pushed my boundaries in college at UTSA was joining this internship called Southwestern Advantage.
It was an intensive program for students to sell educational books door to door in a different state for over 80 hours a week for an entire summer. I went into my freshmen year eager to step outside of my comfort zone and to press into my fears, which was their entire model so I jumped right in.
I knew that I did not want to be a professional door to door sales woman, nobody wants that. LOL. I decided to do this instead of creating music for the summer to develop my work ethic, test my emotional resilience, prove that I can be a woman of my word, lead myself when no one else is watching, and practice jumping into action.
I went to Nashville training sales school before being sent out to the field where we learned how to approach, demo, close, and developed completely new habits to prepare for the summer. This was a very difficult time and I often felt like I couldn’t do it. When we all had a commitment ceremony where we made bracelets for each other and promised ourselves and each other to never quit even when we felt like quitting, this made quitting out of the option. So when I was crying on some nights because of how difficult it was to be yelled at by a dad on a bad day or to not make sales running around neighborhoods back to back from 7 am to 10 pm, these moments I wanted to give up and didn’t strengthened my resilience.
After selling books for 2 summers in Georgia and North Carolina and recruiting new students during the school year to join me, these values I practiced affect my music career today. At times it feels difficult, I feel like my music isn’t good enough or I get intrusive ideas about how if I just put my energy towards a guaranteed profitable career like being a doctor or in cybersecurity, then the problems I have wouldn’t exist. Then I remember that I decided to choose a career based on passion, dedicated to monetizing my talents, and that I quite literally couldn’t see myself doing anything else but being a performer. So yes, I prefer to put all my eggs in this one basket, leaving no room for Plan B because I am resilient.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
“Call me Mrs. Variety.”I don’t believe anyone should be confined to a singular identity. As a deejay, music producer, vocalist, songwriter, dancer, and executive director to my original music videos, my journey started with a passion for singing soul. My energetic trap bass wobbles and intimate pop styled lyrics can be described as if Adele recorded to a Michael Jackson beat produced by Alison Wonderland.
As a dynamic leader and performer at heart, I love collaborating with my team to bring artistic visions to life. Whether it’s curating the ultimate festival experience, producing a compelling music video, or delivering a live performance that leaves the audience captivated, I find purpose in crafting unforgettable experiences. It’s about embracing this AND that, where creativity, passion, and business intersect.
My upcoming shows include a Featured Vocal Performance with Zhonk at The Oven on January 25th at 10 pm for EDM Prosperity’s Live Electronic JAMbouree and another DJ set on February 8th at Fitcidence for a dance class recording at “The Rail” ATX of my original music and pop fused edm mixes to fresh choreography.
Looking ahead, I’m currently working on three exciting music video collaborations set for release in 2025. The first is “Life is Beautiful” with Saratonin, which is about embracing authenticity and forgetting perfection as you “realize your truth.” The second collaboration is “Friction” with Zhonk—a funky fresh electronic dance track. The third being “Cheeto Puff,” a seductive trap solo track in collaboration with my choreographer, Rashi, for moves.
After a successful run in various film festival competitions after winning the “Best Original Song” at Austin under the Stars Film Festival and “TJ Vibrant Visionairy Award” at the Austin Spotlight Film Festival in 2024, I will also be releasing the long-awaited “Set Urself Free” music video later this year, specific date TBD.
I am preparing an original music showcase with remixes, singing, deejaying, live band instrumentation, and dancers to create a fully immersive, multidimensional performance experience. I’m aiming to have this production ready by June 14th 2025, in time for her performance at the Babe stock Festival at Cheer Up Charlie’s with BabeATX.
I also co-own SAKI Weddings with Saratonin, a dynamic duo dj host sound service, am a board member for EDM Prosperity, and the production designer for the Babestock Festival in June with Babeatx.
My music isn’t just about creating sound—it’s about crafting a vision, telling a story, and connecting with my audience in a way that resonates deeply.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I believe the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey has been my community, my discipline, and my creativity.
The advice that I have for folks to help with their journeys to improve on any of these qualities would be to get in the habit of putting yourself in situations that may scare you but push you to be better. Half of the job is just showing up. It’s okay to be scared, but it’s not okay to let that fear stop you. Take your schedule seriously but never take yourself seriously. Learn to fall in love with the process and follow the inspiration when it comes, always prioritize that high energetic flow of inspiration above all else. Surround yourself with a community of mentors and friends who inspire and motivate you.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes I am looking for partners to collaborate with!
I am looking for a great videographer who does short form styled content with track motion and other trendy effects that could partner with me to record for my upcoming original music video, “Friction” with Zhonk. Date to shoot TBD.
I am calling all dancers, specifically hip hop, seductive, or energetic edm styles, for my live show production for the Babestock festival on June 14th this year.
I am also looking for more crew members, especially with videography experience to help staging scenes, to partner with to be part of my music video with Saratonin, “Life is Beautiful.”
Date to shoot: Mid February- Mid March. TBD.
Calling female models as well to be part of a specific scene for “Life is Beautiful.”
