Meet Vicky Keisler

We recently connected with Vicky Keisler and have shared our conversation below.

Vicky , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from the life lessons I’ve gathered through the ups and downs of my journey. Growing up in post-war Vietnam, I was raised by my grandmother after losing my parents at a young age. She taught me the value of kindness, patience, and hard work, and instilled in me a belief in Karma. Her wisdom shaped how I approach challenges, always reminding me to act with integrity and trust that good actions will bring good results.

Starting Na’ava Skin Care Spa from one small room, I had to face intense competition in a market dominated by fillers and Botox. I believed deeply in the power of organic ingredients and noninvasive treatments, even when it was difficult to gain traction. That belief, along with the love and support of my clients, gave me the strength to persevere.

The clients who travel from across the globe and the success of Na’ava are a testament to how resilience, fueled by gratitude and purpose, can overcome any obstacle. Each step of the journey has taught me to trust in myself and stay true to the values my grandmother passed down to me.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities and skills that impacted my journey as a CEO and business owner were empathy, perseverance, and my commitment to learning new ways to improve my craft. Connecting with clients personally and truly understanding their concerns helped me build trust and long-term relationships. Skincare isn’t just about products and services; it’s about making people feel heard and cared for. I would also say to never stop learning. Attend workshops, follow industry leaders, and invest in certifications that align with your goals. Keep a growth mindset and view every challenge as a learning opportunity. From starting Na’ava Skin Care Spa in a single room to building a recognized brand, resilience carried me through the toughest times. It’s what kept me going when the odds felt stacked against me. I have learned to see obstacles as stepping stones. Surround yourself with a strong support system, and always remember why you love what you do. Focus on small, consistent actions toward your goals, and celebrate even the smallest wins. To anyone early in their journey, know that building your skills and knowledge is a marathon, not a sprint. Embrace patience, stay humble, and lead with your passion—it will take you farther than you can imagine!

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

As the CEO of Na’ava Skin Care, when I feel overwhelmed, I remind myself to pause, breathe, and focus on one thing at a time. Running a business has many moving parts, and it’s easy to feel anxious when the pressure mounts. In those moments, I lean on my faith and the support of my loyal customers to regain clarity and direction. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is my fear of public speaking, especially with my Vietnamese accent. Early on, I worried about being judged or misunderstood, which made me hesitant to share my story. But I realized that my authenticity and passion are my greatest strengths. It was my grandmother’s wisdom and the saying, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step,” that gave me the courage to face these fears.I started small—speaking to clients one-on-one, then addressing small groups during consultations. Over time, I gained confidence. Each time I stepped outside my comfort zone, I grew stronger, and the fear that once felt so overwhelming began to shrink.

Now, when I feel those nerves creeping in, I remind myself that my accent is part of who I am. It tells a story of resilience, of growing up in Vietnam and finding my way to where I am today. People connect to authenticity, and I’ve learned that it’s okay to embrace my imperfections—they make me relatable.

For anyone who feels anxious about starting something new or facing a challenge, remember that even the smallest steps forward are still progress. Be patient with yourself, celebrate your growth, and trust that with time, you’ll find your voice and your confidence.
