We recently connected with Mandi Lebbos and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Mandi , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from years of experience in the beauty, fashion, and lifestyle industries, focusing on creativity, innovation, and collaboration. The foundation is built on a passion for storytelling, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results for every campaign or project. This strong ethic is also influenced by a deep understanding of clients’ needs and the ability to adapt and excel in dynamic environments, ensuring every piece of work resonates with the intended audience.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a Creative Director with over 20 years of experience in the beauty, fashion, and lifestyle industries. My journey has been driven by a passion for storytelling and design, evolving into a career dedicated to creating impactful campaigns and visuals that connect with diverse audiences. Throughout the years, I’ve mastered the art of branding, packaging, digital content, and creative direction, collaborating with some of the most forward-thinking brands and individuals in the industry. My work ethic is rooted in creativity, attention to detail, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. I thrive on bringing unique ideas to life, blending artistry with strategy to deliver results that resonate. With a global perspective and a love for innovation, I’m committed to shaping narratives that leave a lasting impression.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back on my journey, three qualities have been instrumental in shaping my career: adaptability, creativity, and relationship-building. These skills have not only guided me through the dynamic nature of the beauty, fashion, and lifestyle industries but also allowed me to continuously grow and thrive in an ever-evolving creative landscape.

Adaptability: The ability to pivot and embrace change has been crucial, especially in industries that move quickly and demand innovation. I’ve learned that staying open to new ideas, technologies, and trends ensures you remain relevant and capable of meeting the needs of your clients. For those starting out, I recommend exposing yourself to different aspects of the industry, remaining curious, and being willing to step outside your comfort zone.

Creativity: Creativity has always been the driving force behind my work. Whether it’s crafting a campaign, developing a brand identity, or designing packaging, the ability to think outside the box and bring unique ideas to life has been invaluable. To develop this, I advise honing your craft through consistent practice, seeking inspiration from art, culture, and other industries, and embracing failure as part of the creative process—it often leads to breakthroughs.

Relationship-Building: Success is rarely achieved alone. Building meaningful relationships with clients, collaborators, and teams has been essential to my journey. Strong relationships create trust, open doors, and foster long-term partnerships. My advice is to focus on clear communication, actively listen to others’ needs, and show genuine care and respect for everyone you work with. Networking is key, but authenticity will always set you apart.

For those early in their careers, I would add one more piece of advice: stay patient and persistent. Growth takes time, but with a commitment to learning and refining these skills, your efforts will compound and lead you to extraordinary opportunities.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes, I am always looking for talented individuals and innovative brands to collaborate with. I’m particularly interested in working with professionals and companies in the beauty, fashion, and lifestyle industries who share a passion for creativity and storytelling. Whether you’re a brand seeking to develop impactful campaigns, a photographer or videographer with a fresh perspective, or a designer with unique ideas, I’m eager to explore opportunities to create something extraordinary together.
