Meet Candice Moore

We recently connected with Candice Moore and have shared our conversation below.

Candice , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I never knew I had resilience until my divorce and being ambushed by my own blood family.
It was a moment that shattered my expectations and forced me to confront deep-seated wounds and betrayals. The pain was overwhelming, and I felt lost, questioning my worth and my place in the world. However, it was in the midst of this turmoil that I discovered something profound: my true identity in God.

In my darkest moments, I turned to prayer and scripture for solace. I found strength in verses that spoke of God’s unwavering love and support. It was through this connection that I began to understand that my value is not defined by the actions of others, but by my relationship with the Divine. This realization sparked a fire within me, igniting a resilience I never knew I possessed.

As I leaned into my faith, I found clarity and purpose. I learned to forgive, not for their sake, but for my own healing. I embraced the strength that came from knowing I was a child of God, worthy of love and respect. This new understanding of my identity allowed me to rise above the hurt, transforming my pain into a source of empowerment.

Through this journey, I discovered that resilience is not just about enduring; it’s about thriving in the face of adversity. I learned to set boundaries, prioritize my well-being, and surround myself with those who uplift me. My faith became my anchor, guiding me through the storm and helping me emerge stronger and more confident in who I am.

I was broken, and God had to break me to build me. At the time, it felt like everything I had relied upon—my relationships, my self-esteem, my plans—was crumbling around me. The pain was unbearable, and I often questioned why I was being subjected to such hardship. But in that brokenness, I learned that it was a necessary part of my journey toward healing and transformation.

In those moments of despair, I found myself seeking God more fervently than ever before. I realized that the fractures in my life were not just signs of defeat but opportunities for renewal. God was gently dismantling the parts of me that no longer served my higher purpose, exposing the raw and unfiltered essence of who I truly am. It was through this process of breaking that I began to understand my weaknesses, my fears, and ultimately, my strengths.

With every tear shed and every moment of anguish, I discovered layers of resilience I never knew existed within me. God was not just breaking me down; He was reshaping me, teaching me lessons in humility, compassion, and forgiveness. I learned to lean into my faith, to trust that there was a greater plan at work, even when I couldn’t see it.

As I surrendered to the process, (and yes, the process hurt, and it did not feel good) I began to feel a sense of renewal. I found support in my church family, and I learned to embrace vulnerability as a source of strength. With time, I started to see the beauty in my scars; they became testaments to my journey and indicators of my growth.

Now, I stand stronger and more whole than I ever thought possible. I have been rebuilt by the hands of God, fortified with wisdom and grace. My brokenness has become a part of my testimony, a reminder that transformation is possible and that there is light even in the darkest of times. I carry forward with a deeper understanding of my purpose and a renewed commitment to live authentically, knowing that I am a work in progress guided by divine love.

Now, I look back at that experience with gratitude. It was a catalyst for growth and self-discovery, revealing the depth of my resilience and the unwavering support of God. I realize that even in the most challenging moments, I have the strength to overcome and the faith to guide me forward.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I believe that every woman has the potential to feel empowered and confident in her own skin. To achieve this, I utilize a variety of tools and techniques, including positive affirmations, goal setting, and mindfulness practices. I also encourage open discussions about self-worth and body image, helping women to challenge and reframe negative thoughts.

My focus is to motivate and inspire women to embrace their strengths, overcome their challenges, and pursue their dreams with confidence. I want to create a platform where women feel heard, valued, and motivated to take action in their lives.

To achieve this goal, I plan to share my personal journey and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. I believe that authenticity is key, and by being open about my own struggles and triumphs, I hope to connect with my audience on a deeper level. I want to encourage women to realize that they are not defined by their setbacks but rather by their resilience and determination.

In my talks, I will focus on themes such as self-empowerment, goal setting, and the importance of a supportive community. I will share practical strategies that women can implement in their daily lives to boost their confidence and self-esteem. Whether it’s through storytelling, workshops, or interactive discussions, I aim to create an engaging and uplifting experience for all attendees.

Additionally, I plan to collaborate with other women leaders and organizations to amplify our message and reach a wider audience. By building a network of like-minded individuals, we can create a movement that champions women’s empowerment and fosters a culture of support and encouragement.

Ultimately, my vision is to inspire women to believe in themselves and to take bold steps toward their aspirations. I want to be a catalyst for change, helping women to recognize their worth and to pursue their passions unapologetically. Together, we can create a world where every woman feels empowered to shine her light and make a difference.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Resilience: The ability to bounce back from setbacks and challenges has been crucial in my journey. Life is filled with obstacles, and there were times when I faced self-doubt and adversity. Cultivating resilience has allowed me to view challenges as opportunities for growth rather than insurmountable barriers. This quality not only helps me in my personal life but also enables me to inspire others to persevere through their struggles.

Effective Communication: Being able to articulate my thoughts and emotions clearly has been essential in connecting with others. Whether through public speaking, writing, or one-on-one conversations, effective communication helps me convey my message of empowerment and support. It allows me to engage with women from diverse backgrounds and create meaningful dialogues that foster understanding and encouragement.

Empathy: Understanding and relating to the feelings and experiences of others has been a cornerstone of my journey. My ability to empathize with women who struggle with self-esteem and personal challenges enables me to offer genuine support and guidance. Emotional intelligence helps me to be attuned to the needs of my audience, fostering a safe space for sharing and growth. By recognizing and validating their feelings, I can help women feel seen and heard, which is essential in building their confidence.

These qualities and skills not only contribute to my personal growth but also enhance my effectiveness as a motivational speaker and advocate for women’s empowerment. They enable me to connect deeply with my audience and inspire positive change in their lives.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

The Bible has been a profound source of guidance and inspiration throughout my journey, offering wisdom that resonates deeply with my values and aspirations. Its teachings have shaped my understanding of self-worth, compassion, and resilience, providing me with a foundation to build upon as I strive to empower others.

One of the most impactful nuggets of wisdom I’ve drawn from the Bible is the concept of inherent worth. Passages that emphasize that we are all created in the image of God remind me—and those I work with—that our value is not contingent upon external circumstances or societal standards. This understanding a sense of dignity and self-respect, empowering women to embrace their true selves without comparison or judgment.

The Bible teaches the importance of love and compassion, both for us and others. The commandment to “love your neighbor as yourself” underscores the necessity of self-love as a precursor to loving others. This message resonates deeply in my work, as I encourage women to cultivate self-compassion and kindness toward themselves, which in turn allows them to extend that same grace to those around them.

Another valuable lesson is the idea of perseverance and hope in times of struggle. Many biblical stories highlight individuals who faced significant challenges but remained steadfast in their faith and purpose. These narratives serve as powerful reminders that setbacks can lead to growth and that resilience is a vital component of the human experience. This knowledge inspires me to support others in navigating their own challenges with courage and determination.

The Bible emphasizes the importance of community and support. The concept of fellowship and coming together to uplift one another resonates with my vision of creating a network of empowered women. The teachings encourage us to bear one another’s burdens and celebrate each other’s victories, reinforcing the idea that we are stronger together.

The Bible has played a pivotal role in my development, providing valuable insights that inform my approach to life and my mission to empower women. I would not have made it without that book. Its teachings on self-worth, love, perseverance, and community continue to inspire me and guide my efforts as a motivational speaker. The bible is the best book to read.
