Meet Chromalogue Studios

We recently connected with Chromalogue Studios and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Chromalogue , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

The resilience in our brand is a result of our continuous drive to conquer the difficult things in life. Whether it’s building a business, learning skills, or pushing ourselves to grow in any aspect, we have a foundational belief that we are capable of all things and all levels of success as long as we continue to attack it. We have had major challenges occur in the history of our business, but as a team we always unified with a positive attitude and reaffirmed our ability to overcome the challenges. As a result, we’ve been able to build a brand that represents our resilience and be a successful photography/videography team!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Our journey began with an idea to capture the essence of an individual, the expression behind the lens, the personality frozen in a frame. As a team, we collaborate on creating stunning portraits and documenting the one of the most special days for people – their wedding day! We pride ourselves on our diversity, our efforts to try new concepts, and our constant commitment to the craft.

What makes our brand special has been and always will be our longstanding (going on 17 years now) friendship. We truly are best friends and each others’ support system and have a genuine desire to not only succeed individually, but as a team. That camaraderie combined with our desire to provide the best possible version of ourselves for our clients is truly what makes our brand “us”. We don’t get tired of creating art together as friends and we truly just seek to create beautiful moments for our clients!

This year, we are really excited to offer content creation with our brand! We’ve added an exceptional team member, Kiran Alibhai, who not only understands our identity but also encourages us to achieve new heights with our content. She’s been a huge addition to the team and we’ve had feedback from numerous friends, colleagues, and clients on how much more elevated our content has been!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Teamwork/Chemistry – For our group, our teamwork and chemistry has been the biggest strength for our brand’s continued growth. As well, it’s our clients’ favorite thing about us anytime we are on a shoot. Our clients truly value how incredibly well we all work together to maintain a lighthearted, fun, yet always professional environment with them which comforts them and allows them to express themselves fully. We’ve been able to truly utilize this aspect of our brand to bond with our clients and provide them with the best service possible from beginning to end.

Willingness to learn – Each one of us does not know everything there is about business, photography, editing, etc. and instead we are all on a continuous journey to learn as much as we can. We strongly believe that if you think you know everything, then you have already lost and you are more prone to making mistakes that could hurt you long-term. Internally, we still take each other’s feedback after every event, photoshoot, editing session, etc. because we know we can still learn something new.

Practice makes Permanent – Experience is very key in running and scaling a business like this. Trying out new equipment, learning a new editing style, focusing attention to a new photography style all come with time and practice. Part of what got us here was that we used to meet up and practice together as a team. Especially if we bought new equipment, we wanted to make sure we were ready before getting in front of a client and that we knew how to function as a unit for a smooth and seamless process. The reason why we said that practice makes permanent is that you have to practice and learn the right thing and the best thing for your business. Practicing for the sake of it can only get you so far.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes! We would love to collaborate with more creators but we pride ourselves on the atmosphere we bring. We love collaborators who come in with a mindset of creating an experience for the clients as opposed to having a pre-planned shoot. We appreciate spontaneity, creativity, and willingness to try new things, even if they might not work out!
