We recently connected with Robin Bogue and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Robin, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Resilience is more than just a word to me; it’s a way of life instilled in me from a young age. I witnessed resilience firsthand as my family members overcame challenges and embraced life despite setbacks. They are my guiding lights.
My Grandmother, Peggy Bogue, endured a lifetime of surgeries due to a childhood accident, yet she never let that slow her down. She lived life to the fullest as an entertainer, educator, and caretaker, using her cane not as a crutch but as a prop in her joyful performances of Frank Sinatras, New York, New York.
My Grandmother, Dixie Stratton, faced heart issues, breast cancer, and ovarian cancer with quiet strength and unwavering faith. She lived a life of service, earning the nickname “Grandma Honey” for her sweetness.
My Dad, Bill Bogue, continues to face the crippling pain of arthritis and the aftermath of horse riding accidents. Despite his pain, he remains a dedicated provider for his family and employees. He is my unsung hero.
Growing up, I admired the way my family members lived with dignity and grace. Their strength continues to inspire me as I navigate my own life. I rely on my faith for hope, my inner strength for endurance, and the love I’ve received to create a good life for my own family.
I strive to live each day to the best of my ability, a lesson I learned by watching my family. I admire their resilience and aspire to follow in their footsteps.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My top three qualities that were most impactful for my journey are:
Adaptability – the ability to learn and change, grow, and evolve to succeed.
Discipline – a desire to succeed and the ability to create the habit to do it.
Creativity – the capability of dreaming, believing and allowing new ideas to formulate. Taking the steps to feel the desire you want to create.
Take the time to step back and think about what makes you happy. Go to a quiet place to allow yourself to explore options without reservations. Don’t be afraid to start over, redo, or make a change half way through a project. Don’t stop until it is right.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The person who has helped me overcome challenges more than anyone else is my dad. He always knows the right words and actions to take, even when I’m feeling uncertain. He has a way of mapping out a clear path for me to work through any issue.
I vividly remember a time when I owned a winery and was overwhelmed with 19 equally urgent tasks. I had spread the documents out on the floor, feeling paralyzed by indecision. My dad calmly touched one stack of papers with the toe of his boot and said, “Do this one, then this one, then that one.” It was as if a mental fog lifted, and I could think clearly again. I was able to complete all 19 tasks that day and went home feeling satisfied and accomplished.
