Meet Staci Morris

We were lucky to catch up with Staci Morris recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Staci , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from a balance of heart and determination – a combination of nurturing my inner creativity and tackling challenges with strategic, purposeful actions. It’s deeply rooted in my ability to adapt, create, and persevere through life’s challenges while not losing sight of my values. Making purpose-driven decisions, having the courage to build, executing a clear brand vision, and being deeply connected to moments of joy and wellness are central aspects of my resilience. It’s not just about pushing through difficulty but about transforming challenges into opportunities for growth and alignment.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Liberation Nails is so much more than a nontoxic nail polish brand – it’s a reflection of my belief that beauty and wellness go hand in hand. It’s been a deeply transforming journey that started when my beloved mother was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer during the pandemic. Toward the end of her life, she asked me to paint her nails. I remember sitting on her bed, adding color to her nails, and seeing how the simple act helped her reconnect with herself – the beauty, joy, and strength she had before the cancer took hold. It was a profound moment for me, realizing how transformative color and self-care can be, even in the darkest of times.

The experience planted the seed for the brand – to offer nontoxic, vegan, cruelty-free, high-performance nail color and nail care free from harmful chemicals and powered by plant-based botanicals. What makes this journey so special for me is knowing that every bottle we create not only brings joy but also takes care of the person wearing it. Our products are formulated with nourishing botanicals and fruit oils that strengthen and protect the nails and deliver long-lasting color. Rooted in sustainability, we prioritize eco-friendly practices from packaging to production – conscious care and wellness are at the heart of everything we do.

I’m excited about our new color “Glimmers” created with healing Peptides and botanical & fruit oils to support nail keratin structure, repair micro-damage, shield from UV rays, and hydrate, and regenerate nails.

What excited me most is how Liberation Nails also gives back. A portion of every sale goes to Project Color Corps. This nonprofit transforms communities by bringing vibrancy and hope through color (painting schools and community centers). Knowing our work can have a positive effect on people – that is what fuels me.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back on my journey, I think three qualities – creative vision, resilience, and deep product expertise – have shaped Liberation Nails, and helped me create a brand that feels personal, thoughtful, and impactful.

My years as a designer &. product developer with a deep understanding of color theory and its emotional impact are at the heart of my brand and helped me craft a clear brand aesthetic that is visually interesting, and emotionally appealing. I was able to channel the pain of losing my mother to cancer into something purposeful and uplifting to others. I’m committed to creating something bigger than just products – it’s a mission to bring joy and wellness to others,

Drawing on my 15 years of experience turning ideas into successful, saleable products, I was able to apply my expertise to every detail of developing my brand and product line. At the same time, I infused the process with value-driven initiatives, such as a focus on sustainability and conscious innovation, ensuring that Liberation Nails reflects both my vision and my values.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I remind myself that building a business is a marathon, not a sprint. The key is to stay consistent and not quit, no matter how small the steps may feel. I focus on accomplishing one meaningful thing every day that moves my business forward.

The visualization that helps me the most is imagining two ladders. One has rungs spaced far apart, and the other has rungs close together. Both ladders will get you to the top, but the one with more rungs feels easier to climb because you’re taking small, manageable steps along the way. That’s how I approach my work—one step, one win at a time.

My advice? Break it down. Focus on the next step, not the whole journey, and trust that the small, consistent actions will get you where you want to go. Don’t quit—you’re always closer to your goal than you realize.
