Meet Cynthia Mattiza

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cynthia Mattiza. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Cynthia with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

My work ethic comes from my dad. He immigrated from Iran to the US in the 70s. As a kid, he always instilled traits that were the foundation blocks to who I am today professionally. Hard work always pays off. Doing the hard things, persevere through the grit. I’ve also always had a job. From when I was younger, I babysit neighborhood kids when I was 15, then I got my first real job as a lifeguard and taught swim lessons. I honestly don’t know what it’s like not to work. It has been ingrained in me from very on in my life. I was taught that if you work hard, put in the work, you will see the fruits of your labor.

Now that I am a mother, It’s important to me to teach my kids the same values and grit. I love that they see me working and as a result, see that the life my husband and I have built was due to that work ethic.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back the 3 skills that were more impactful in my journey.

1) Grit. I worked day and night when I got started in my career, and I barely made any money. A mentor told me that if I planted seeds, watered them, they would grow. Back in 2010-2012, I planted A LOT of seeds. It took grit to wake up without having an appointment set, but determined to seek out business and introductions. Fast forward to 2025, I am so proud of the connections made in those early years, many of them have led me to some of my favorite clients or referral partners.

2) Relationships. You never know what relationship and what connection will lead you to. Be open minded to meeting new people, creating meaningful relationships that serve your heart. I’m not one for small talk, so I like to get deep quick, but I have found being myself around people that bring that out, are the people that support me the most.

3) First Impressions Matter. You only get one shot. Choose that wisely and always be prepared.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

I’m currently reading Mel Robbin’s Let Them, and wow its immensely impactful. I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to read this book. The perspective is something I think we could all use.

Its not necessarily a book, but I’m really into Podcasts about wellness and self improvement. The Skinny Confidential has had so many great nuggets of info.
