Meet Necolle Williams

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Necolle Williams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Necolle below.

Necolle, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

I definitely dedicate this to my late grandmother Theodosia. Loosing her back in October 2024 I didn’t realize how much I was truly like her until so many things came to my remembrance.

Walking into her house the smells of good food and warmth were painted on the walls. She would offer you a hot meal and you definitely walked out with something you did or didn’t need.

Fast forward to January 2025 I noticed I am constantly trying to see what I can give to those I care about. As a kid I would be given spending money. 9 times out of 10 I’d turn around and spend it on my friends or my sister just because.

The feeling of giving for me feels like I recieved something. It’s just such a warm feeling I just want to continue doing it. I may not give as much as my grandma did but I do know I’m a living testament of the effects a kind generous woman can have on someone.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Colley Cakes is something unique. More than it just being a play off my name “Necolle” it offers something special.

My sole focus for my buisness is to bring affordable pricing to your sweetest and happiest moments, as well as making you feel just as happy.

Although I’m still getting my feet wet and may not have as much experience I am very hopeful in this 2025 year.

2024 was a whirlwind of a year
I found many gems and much heartache. However 2025 I’m walking in with new excitement, new passion, and new energy for my products. This will include more continuation of my Instagram seris, more product launches, and vendor events.

Look out world you better hop on the Colley Cakes train because we’re moving to more prosperous spaces.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I have a mixture of knowledge and skills that have brought me much benefit in this journey. To be honest I learned a lot from what many would think is just a hobby or a great watch.

I have been watching food network shows probably since 2015/16. I was introduced by my lovely second mom in my life Ms. Alana who just one day said “hey chile come check this out” and boy who knew I’d be hooked. I have learned probably 75% of my cooking from watching these shows. From competition shows to demonstrations I’ve adhered to small nuggets and incorporated it in my own style of cooking and it’s just worked. Who knew watching so much television CAN be good for you.

For anyone starting their own businesses, crafts, or whatever brings u money and happiness(they have to bring you both) I’d first say find a source of learning. For me it was cooking shows and being in the restersunt/ food world but for you it could be joining activity groups, watching TV, YouTube videos, you name it. Find that source of knowledge. It could even be someone you know who likes those same things and just learn what you can. The second tidbit with that advice would be be consistent. There’s time a lot of us (I included) who struggle with this but let me tell you it makes a world of difference. People you will think who are paying no attention to you will see it. Maybe not today or tomorrow but good attention is given where it’s earned.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

This question could be answered in so many ways it just varies person to person. I for one who struggles with anxiety regularly have to find time to breathe. Just simple moments of the inhale exhale can take you from 10 to 5 very quick. It makes a world of difference in your crafts, products, or passions when you take time to breathe.

I’d also say what I’m told often “get out of your own head”. We can often be our worst enimes especially in buisness. Who is really going to buy from someone who is all over the place? Again take that time to breathe, lay out a plan, look at the facts, and look how you can improve. We all make countless mistakes. It’s more about how you “bounce back” (as Gordan ramsay says) and change your outlook on things.
You can do it. You just have to believe in yourself first.
