Meet Joshua Maolud

We recently connected with Joshua Maolud and have shared our conversation below.

Joshua, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I definitely got my work ethic from my father. My whole life I have seen him do nothing but work hard. He always pushed me towards what I wanted to do which inspires me to keep grinding to my goal.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Hello my name is Joshua Maolud I am a Photographer from Atlanta Georgia. Since the age of 15, photography has been my passion. After high school, I relocated to Southern California where I was able to build up a diverse portfolio. After 2 years in California, my newly found career led me right back home to Georgia for the business Atlanta can bring. Here in Atlanta I have done a lot of digging into the industry in the little 5 months that I have been back.

I provide a Comfortable, Professional, and Remembered experience to all of my clients. My dream is to take photos for people around the world rather it’s for celebrities, models, brands, or events.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

~Patience was very important to learn. Having patience for some people or even situations gives you the resilience to be in this creative industry.

~Social Skills were also very important to learn. Being able to walk in a room and network myself was something a needed help with and still do need a bit of work on.

~Teamwork is very important. I think it’s safe to say that majority of the people on this planet have been taught to do things by themselves. I think that is the worst info/advice you can get. It takes a village, why make life harder trying to do everything yourself.

My best advice would be to ask questions, do research, practice a bunch, and be professional always. If you can learn how to do those things you will be easily successful.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I want to collaborate with different celebrities to build my own platform and add to my portfolio but mainly I want my own platform that way I can go and find beginner models and but them in situations that will boost there career. The best way to connect with me is my two business emails and my Instagram.
