Meet Dim Fashion

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dim Fashion a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dim, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I don’t think that anyone has found their purpose yet. I think purpose changes all the time with our hobbies, passions and values. However, the one thing that I’m carrying around with me forever, kind of like a purpose, is creating art out of ordinary things and bringing creators, artists in to the spotlight. That is the reason why I started “Dim Fashion Addicts”. I want to make unknown models, designers, photographers, artists shine as bright as possible. I believe that my purpose is to give creative people hope. Show them, that they can take up space in the fashion industry.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

“Dim Fashion Addicts” is a fashion page, that shows the fashion industry from all possible sides: photographers, creative directors, models, agents etc.
I have always wanted to do something creative, but at the same time, make people stars. My main idea was to make a small account, where I post my niche fashion interests. My plan quickly changed, because I realised how much of an impact I can make with a platform like this, and people from the start loved it. Now I’m just trying to grow “Dim”, possibly attend fashion events, and just enjoy the process of showing people how beautiful and inspiring fashion can be.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Firstly, discipline and consistency. I realised that without consistent research, activity and posting I will never succeed. There are millions of other fashion pages, and if I stop, someone will gladly take my place.
Secondly, passion. I am so passionate about fashion and art, and I believe that if I wasn’t – my motivation would drop, I would be unhappy, and also couldn’t deliver quality content that would excite people.
And lastly, don’t be afraid of making mistakes. I’m still very early on my journey, and I know, that mistakes will occur, and it’s fine. As long as you learn from your mistakes and don’t give up – it’s a benefit!

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

I started in the fashion world as a model. I gained so much information, skills and knowldege from it. But as time kept going, I realized that it is not my calling, even though I was interested in it and loved it. It took me 2 years to realize this, but now, I’m happier than ever. I want to take my knowledge, and help people learn about the fashion industry and fall in love with it.
