Sam Ghanem discusses Atomic Habits by James Clear

We’re excited to chat with Sam Ghanem about Atomic Habits. Check out our conversation below.

Sam, it’s always a great day when we have a chance to connect. Thanks for taking the time to share one of your favorite books with us. What can you tell us about Atomic Habits?
Atomic Habits and in action inspired book using simple frameworks to get you to adopt new, better, higher impact habits and shows you ways to divorce those habits that no longer serve you.

The format is such that you can apply the advice & methodologies to literally anything; no matter the place you are in, your age, demographic, industry or culture, this book is sure to ignite ATOMIC CHANGE, if you let it!

Wonderful, so can you talk to us in more detail about why this book resonates with you?
This book found me, rather I found it, not really sure, at the most amazing cross roads in my life. Everything as I knew it felt like it was on fire and not in a good way. I NEEDED THIS BOOK!

Whether work related, wellness, relationships or life in general, this book trains you in how to adapt your mindset to succeed in your given area.

Creating a successful plan of attack. Understanding the difference between goals versus to-do lists. Habit Stacking rather than thinking if we don’t do it all than nothing counts. Being open to change and allowing personal freedoms to determine how you attack a given habit.

After reading the book, if you had to boil it down to one key take-away, what would it be?
Habit Stacking I will take this into infinity with me as it relates to EVERY SEASON of life.

Habit Stacking is a form of Implementation Intention.

“Rather than pairing your new habit with a particular time and location, you pair it with a current habit.”

This was a MASSIVE way for me to create a system of ease and flow and love on myself throughout the chaos that life can bring.

From small things to big things you can literally habit stack your entire day from morning to night and, personally for me, this has invited a structure that doesn’t feel like “work” or a “to-do” list.

How did you discover this book?
It was recommended by a friend LONG BEFORE I read it. And while I wish I read it sooner I do also know it has Atomic Impact on me as a direct result of the timing in which I read this book. I was fully immersed in this incredible piece of writing that has made me a much better human being overall.
