Meet Natalie Dreaden

We recently connected with Natalie Dreaden and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalie, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

Facing imposter syndrome is inevitable in modern day society. The social media phenomenon plays a vast role in comparison and self-doubting. As a creative and small business owner, I rely on social media to promote my business. This is where the comparison can begin for us. The moment we begin that vicious cycle of comparing the number of views , the number of likes, or the large number of followers self-doubt creeps in. Imposter syndrome was a significant obstacle in the early stages of building my brand and my business. The realization that these factors do not determine my worth allowed for the shift in perspective to overcome imposter syndrome. I learned to release these limitations and recognize the dedication and passion I’ve poured into my craft and my business. My clients believe in my art so why couldn’t I fully believe in myself? With time comes growth and in that growth confidence is built. When that mind shift occurs and you begin to view other individuals as inspiration rather than comparison, you truly begin to thrive as an artist and business owner.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a professional photographer specializing in family & motherhood with a focus on story telling. My photography style is unique because I capture and embrace the raw moments, beautiful moments and fun moments. Having fun during my family sessions and allowing for the kiddos to lead the way is highly encouraged. It’s important the kids are comfortable and having fun. I love incorporating bubbles and games during my sessions. My motherhood sessions are primarily focused on my beautiful Mamas. I strive to make them feel like the Goddesses they are. A love for nature photography has awoken within me in which I plan on exploring this year . Im always looking for ways to stay inspired and challenging myself as an artist.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The passion, the determination, and the drive to grow as an artist are qualities that have guided me through this journey. My best advice is to pursue what motivates you and when faced with adversity, do not allow yourself to falter.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Collaborations and creating a community has been something I’ve wanted to pursue. I’d want to find other creatives and like minded business owners to network and inspire each other. Please visit my website or the provided social media links to connect.
