Meet Vivica Baker Bryant

We recently connected with Vivica Baker Bryant and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Vivica, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

It comes from being in some really dark places and deciding I wasn’t going to stay there. After trying everything else, I cracked the code: I started talking to myself like I would a best friend—positively and with grace. I retrained my subconscious mind using affirmations laced with scriptures, which became my daily pep talks. I’ve learned to be patient with myself, love myself unapologetically, and celebrate even my smallest victories. The truth is, I’ve been through some devastating things, and every time I survived, I felt like I earned another stripe as a warrior. If I can survive that, what’s a little Monday morning traffic or a tough day at work? God’s got me, so I choose to live like the winner He says I am.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m a bit of a multitasking queen—I work for the government, dabble as a mobile notary and loan signing agent, and even plan vacations as a travel agent. But my true love? My catering business, Eggs-zactly Specialty Services, LLC, started with a “God idea” and some deviled eggs. What I thought would be a fun holiday side hustle has turned into a full-fledged business that keeps me busy almost every weekend. My family and friends always raved about my deviled eggs, and it clicked: why not turn this into something bigger?

Now, I’m serving not just eggs but a variety of specialty appetizers at festivals, food events, and private parties. People even call me the “Egg Lady” (and yes, I wear the title with pride). The most exciting part is seeing people light up when they taste my eggs—it’s like their faces say, “How can something this simple be this good?” That’s the magic. And trust me, I’m only getting started. Expansion plans? Oh, absolutely. Stay tuned!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

• Do it afraid.
Let me tell you, fear doesn’t go away just because you want it to. You have to learn to move forward while your knees are shaking. My motto? “Feel the fear and do it anyway.” You’d be surprised how much courage grows from just starting.

• Find mentors and communities.
Surround yourself with people who’ve been where you’re trying to go. I can’t tell you how many times a mentor has saved me from making a rookie mistake just by sharing their experience. Also, join communities of like-minded people—it’s like having a cheering section that actually understands what you’re doing.

• Believe in yourself.
If you don’t believe in your own greatness, who will? Confidence is contagious. Walk into the room like you own the place. Push yourself harder than anyone else will because, at the end of the day, you’re the CEO of your dream.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When life gets overwhelming, I hit the “pause” button. I retreat to solitude, journal my thoughts, and head to the nearest body of water. There’s just something about water that calms me—it’s like nature’s reset button. Whether it’s a lake or the ocean, I find my grounding there.

I’ve also mastered the art of saying “no.” Listen, I used to be the ultimate people-pleaser. I’d say “yes” to things I didn’t even like, just to avoid rejection. But now? I’ve learned that “no” is a complete sentence. Boundaries are like life vests—they keep you afloat. My advice? Find what grounds you, let go of what drains you, and don’t feel guilty for choosing peace over pleasing everyone else.
