Meet Krissy P

We recently connected with Krissy P and have shared our conversation below.

Krissy , we are so appreciative of you taking the time to open up about the extremely important, albeit personal, topic of mental health. Can you talk to us about your journey and how you were able to overcome the challenges related to mental issues? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
Most of my life I have suffered with anxiety. There have been times in my life when I fought many battles alone still while showing up and pouring into others. Mental health does not have a face, I want people to understand that it is okay to struggle sometimes but don’t stay there do your best to dig yourself out of that dark place. I am a professional makeup artist a owner of a cruelty free cosmetic line, I have to constantly show and engage with clientele and promote myself all while dealing with social anxiety. I have been featured on the news twice and I’ve done public speaking and had to speak in front of others to share my cosmetic journey! All while struggling with my anxiety. Since I’ve become more open about my struggles with anxiety I’ve realized I’m not the only Person dealing with this disorder and it’s made me feel more confident with sharing my journey. I have had anxiety attacks prior to speaking to my classes while teaching makeup and before going on air being on television but here are a few things that help me to over come it! I do my best to stay present in the moment I focus on what’s around me and tell myself that I am ok and there is no reason to be anxious, I focus on something that calms me even if it’s me placing my hand on something to become more present with what’s around me. Breathing has been a big help I focus on my breathing I inhale deeply and exhale , and journaling has been a big help I also practice in the mirror when I know I have to engage and or public speak. My anxiety has gotten a lot better but I’m nowhere near perfect! I say this to say that no matter what you may go through we aren’t perfect and we are not meant to have it all together. People look at me as being poised and well put together because of the way I carry myself and pour into others. It took me some time to overcome my mental health obstacles and want you all to know that your anxiety and or mental health does not have to stop you the sky is the limit and I’m here if you ever need me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Growing up I always knew I had a passion for makeup. As a child I would watch my mother do her makeup in the mirror. She used blushes and lipsticks so many beautiful products I would just stare in Admiration! Every chance I got I played in her makeup. I would dress up and play in the mirror for hours.
I knew I loved the feeling of making myself feel beautiful and making others feel beautiful. My cosmetic line is a reflection of myself and my idea of What Glamour is when you look good you feel good! Our three year anniversary is approaching September 10th and we are launching a small year 3 Bday collection.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three of the most important qualities and or skills in being a entrepreneur to me would be to always be teachable be open to listening and learning, show up no matter what the hardest part sometimes is just doing that, Invest into your brand go to business coaching classes watch YouTube to help you elevate in your area. My advice for people early in their journey would be to stay inspired never give up! Remember why you started and most importantly have faith that it will all work out.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
