Meet Zara Silver

We were lucky to catch up with Zara Silver recently and have shared our conversation below.

Zara, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

How did I find my purpose? Honestly, it’s always been inside me. Dance has just always felt natural—it’s something I’ve known would be a huge part of my life since I was little. But beyond dance, I think my purpose comes from love—loving my family, my passions, and the career I’ve chosen to pursue. And most importantly, loving myself enough to wake up every day and keep pushing forward, doing what I love, and creating my own path.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m a professional dancer specializing in acro, contemporary, and jazz, and for me, dance is my way of telling stories and expressing emotions in a way words can’t.

What I love most is the mix of strength and artistry—pushing my body to its limits while creating something that connects with people. It’s that feeling of completely losing myself in the movement that makes it so special.

Beyond performing, I love building a community through dance. Social media has given me a space to share my journey, all the hard work, the behind-the-scenes moments, and the creative process that goes into everything I do. I want people to see that dance isn’t just about perfect technique; it’s about passion, resilience, and finding your own voice.

At the end of the day, I just hope to inspire others to move, create, and express themselves in whatever way feels right. Whether it’s on stage, in the studio, or online, I want to keep pushing boundaries and showing what’s possible through dance.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three biggest things that shaped my journey were discipline, adaptability, and self-expression.

Discipline: because dance takes work. You have to show up, put in the hours, and push through even when it’s tough.

Adaptability: because things don’t always go as planned. The more open you are to learning, evolving, and trying new things, the further you’ll go.

Self-expression: because at the end of the day, dance is about feeling. Technique is important, but what really matters is making people connect with what you’re doing.

For anyone just starting out, stay consistent, stay curious, and most of all, have fun. The best dancers are the ones who love what they do.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did for me was support me unconditionally. From the very beginning, they believed in me, encouraged me, and gave me the space to chase my dreams. That kind of love and support isn’t something I take for granted. I know how special and rare it is, and I feel so incredibly lucky to have that from my family. Knowing they have my back has given me the confidence to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough.
