Meet Mele Marchesseault

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mele Marchesseault. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mele below.

Hi Mele, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I volunteered in the emergency room during high school alongside my mom that was an ER nurse – this experience was very intense and heartbreaking to see so much tragedy all at once. It really takes a certain soul to help people in this capacity and I deeply respect every single person that works in this field. I was able to help people during my time in the ER which has always been something I sought but decided it was not for me. So for Christmas that year, I worked with my mom to make earrings for the nurses in the ER ~ I truly felt I found the beginning of my purpose ~ keyword: beginning. Hand making these earrings was life changing to open up my creative pathways for self discovery, awareness, and growth.

About a year later I started my first jewelry collection created with recycled pieces that I premiered with other artists at a pop-up in Venice, CA that led to selling pieces to shops in Japan, Hawaii, and in major US cities. Again this was just the beginning…

Finding the beginning of my purpose opened up other ideas of what I can do with my life and career ~ creating beautiful jewelry that bring joy to people ~ I love seeing people light up when they try on a piece that adds flavor, texture and magic to their world. This is an inspiration within itself ~ though I knew I wanted to help people more but also continue designing ~ I started offering sound healing frequency sound baths to help heal people. There is something so powerful about this offering where people can relax and reset their chakras ~ and I get to help in this healing process ~ adding another layer of purpose.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’ve been a jewelry designer for over 14 years, creating wearable art that blends metals with vivid shapes. My latest collection, available on SWUAR.com, is a reflection of my journey ~ bold, expressive, and infused with meaning. Creations that enlighten with positive power, inquisitive energy, and playful textures.

Expanding beyond adornment, I’ve launched a home decor project, “Wall Earrings,” reimagining jewelry as sculptural art for living spaces. This new venture bridges my love for intricate jewelry design with a fresh way to bring beauty into everyday environments.

Beyond design, I find deep fulfillment in sound healing, offering private sound bath sessions and events in San Francisco. Creating immersive, meditative spaces through sound allows me to share another form of artistry ~ one that nurtures balance, relaxation, and renewal.

Through all these creative expressions, I remain dedicated to crafting art and offerings that resonate ~ whether worn, displayed, or experienced.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Reflecting on my journey as a jewelry designer, creative entrepreneur, and sound healer, three qualities have been especially impactful: resourcefulness, determination, and always thinking of ideas and solutions. These have shaped my path, fueled my growth, and allowed me to navigate the ever-evolving world of artistry and business.

In the world of design and entrepreneurship, challenges are inevitable ~ whether it’s sourcing unique materials, adapting to market changes, or finding ways to bring a creative vision to life. Being resourceful means making the most of what’s available, thinking outside the box, and finding unconventional ways to achieve results.

For example, early in my career, I didn’t always have access to high-end materials or a vast network. Instead, I sought out local artisans to collaborate with, repurposed materials, and found innovative ways to create something extraordinary from limited resources. Even today, resourcefulness plays a role in everything from designing new jewelry pieces to conceptualizing my “wall earrings” home decor project. It’s about seeing possibilities instead of limitations.

The creative path is filled with highs and lows ~ moments of inspiration and moments of doubt. Determination has been the fuel that keeps me moving forward, even when faced with setbacks. Whether it’s launching a new collection on SWUAR.com, perfecting a new design technique, or building a presence in the sound healing space, the key has always been persistence.
There were times when a design didn’t turn out as expected or when I encountered challenges bringing my work to market. But rather than giving up, I kept refining, learning, and improving. Determination has been about embracing the process, knowing that each step—successful or not ~ adds to the power of creating.

Being an artist and entrepreneur isn’t just about having talent; it’s about consistently generating new ideas and solutions. Innovation and adaptability have been at the heart of my work, whether designing jewelry, expanding into home decor, or creating immersive sound healing experiences.

This mindset keeps my creativity fresh and my work dynamic. When I started conceptualizing “wall earrings,” I wasn’t just thinking about making decorative pieces ~ I was solving a creative challenge: How can jewelry transcend the body and become part of a space? The same applies to sound healing ~ how can I craft an experience that resonates with people on a deeper level?

Thinking of ideas and solutions has meant staying open to inspiration, exploring new possibilities, and trusting that creative evolution is constant.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

By blending jewelry, home decor, and sound healing, I would love to collaborate with market curators, artisans crafting unique living spaces, and event organizers to create immersive experiences. With market curators, I can showcase my SWUAR.com collection and wall earrings in curated pop-ups. Partnering with interior designers and artisans, I can enhance living spaces with sculptural adornments and client-focused decor. In the sound healing community, I can offer atmospheric adornments and sound bath experiences that merge art and vibrational healing. These collaborations allow me to transform both personal and spatial experiences, bridging beauty, energy, and craftsmanship.
