Meet Niyh Love

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Niyh Love. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Niyh, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

As I navigated the challenges of adolescence, I noticed how beauty played a role in self-esteem and confidence. I observed friends and peers struggle with body image issues and insecurities. This led me to realize that beauty was not just about looking good; it was about feeling good and embracing one’s identity. This epiphany ignited a desire within me to use my passion to uplift others.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

As I gained experience, I realized that my purpose extended beyond hair styling and makeup application. The beauty industry offers a unique platform for advocacy and education. I became passionate about promoting inclusivity in beauty standards and collaborating with brands focused on sustainability and ethical practices In the age of social media, I leveraged my platform to create a community where beauty meets self-acceptance. I shared real stories, tips, and tutorials that highlighted the importance of embracing natural beauty and diversity. Through workshops and online outreach, I aimed to inspire others to find their confidence, regardless of societal standards. I saw firsthand how these efforts could spark change and positivity among individuals of all backgrounds My journey in the beauty industry is ongoing. I recognize that purpose is not a destination but a continuous evolution. I stay committed to learning, whether it’s about new beauty techniques, holistic practices, or the latest trends in the industry. I engage with others who share my passion, from fellow beauty professionals to clients, continually seeking ways to make a positive impact.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Creativity
Impact: Creativity is at the heart of the beauty industry. It allows professionals to experiment, innovate, and express unique styles. Early on, I learned that being open to new ideas and techniques could lead to stunning transformations and personalized experiences for clients.Communication

Communication
Impact: Strong communication skills have helped me build rapport and trust with clients. Understanding their needs and concerns is crucial in delivering services that meet (and exceed) expectations. Clear communication also aids in educating clients about products and techniques, fostering a deeper connection.

Knowledge of Products and Trends
Impact: Developing a deep understanding of beauty products, ingredients, and industry trends has allowed me to provide informed recommendations and advice to clients. This knowledge positions me as a trusted expert in the field and enhances my service offerings.

My advice for individuals who are early in their journey would be to:

Stay Informed: Subscribe to beauty magazines, blogs, and follow relevant social media accounts to stay updated on the latest trends and innovations.

Hands-On Learning: Experiment with different products and brands personally to understand their effectiveness and suitability for various skin types and preferences.

Investing time and effort into developing creativity, communication skills, and knowledge of products and trends can significantly enhance one’s journey in the beauty industry. By remaining curious, open to learning, and committed to personal growth, newcomers can carve out a fulfilling and impactful career path.
