We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Graham Bmg. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Graham below.
Hi Graham, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Finding my purpose wasn’t an overnight journey. Music found me first, growing up in church. It was part of my life’s rhythm, but over time, I realized it was more than just fun—I wanted to tell stories that inspire and create songs that resonate. That’s when I discovered my purpose: using music as a tool to reach the people and places I’d otherwise not be able to reach, to make people happy and spread joy.
Even with all this, imposter syndrome has been a real struggle. There were times I questioned if I truly belonged. But here’s what I’ve learned: everybody is figuring it out. So I focus on my wins, keep learning, and drown the doubts. And when I’m the only one in the room who looks like me? I remind myself I’m Graham BMG. The room should feel lucky to have me.
My optimism comes from faith and vibes. No matter how hard life hits, I choose to see the glass as half-full. I believe God’s got me, so I stay lit and keep my energy up. And when the haters talk? My mantra is simple: Let success be the clap back.
Of course, the road hasn’t been smooth. Burnout? Been there. Creativity blocks? Faced them. But I’ve learned to pace myself, schedule breaks, and embrace the moments of rest. When creativity feels blocked, I switch things up—walks, new sounds, or even silence. Inspiration always finds its way back.
And when life gets heavy, music becomes my therapy. It’s where I channel my struggles, my questions, my wins. I’ve learned that it’s okay to not have it all figured out, to take things one step at a time.
At the core of everything, I’m just a guy who loves music and people. I’ve found my purpose in creating songs that inspire, stories that connect, and moments that matter. And no matter where this journey takes me, I’ll keep showing up, ready to hustle, give, and create.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Graham BMG is more than an artist—he’s a storyteller with a purpose.
I’m very well rooted in the Nigerian hustle spirit and my journey began in church so its safe to say that’s where music became my calling.
Over time, I’ve turned this passion into a tool for inspiring and uplifting others.
My brand is built on resilience, discipline, and generosity. Influenced by my parents’ selflessness, I use my music to connect, tell stories, and create a lasting impact.
For me, it’s not about trends—it’s about purpose. One song, one story, one vibe at a time.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I’d say the first one is definitely resilience. Growing up in Nigeria, you’re naturally built to hustle—it’s in the culture. For me, failure was never an option. That “keep pushing no matter what” mentality has been my backbone through the ups and downs.
Second would be my work ethic. Back in my TV production days, I learned how to grind, meet deadlines, and stay disciplined. Those years really shaped my approach to everything I do now. I don’t take shortcuts; I approach my craft like a pro every single time.
Lastly, I’d say empathy. I grew up in a space where people’s struggles and triumphs were part of the stories I heard every day. That gave me a deep understanding of how to connect with others. It’s a big reason my music resonates—I pour real-life emotions into it.
These three—resilience, work ethic, and empathy—are the foundation of who I am today.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Absolutely! I’m always open to collaboration. I’m looking for creatives who are passionate about storytelling through music—producers, singers, songwriters, and even visual artists who share a love for Afrobeat, R&B, and soul. I vibe with people who bring authenticity, energy, and fresh ideas to the table.
