Meet Briana Dixon

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Briana Dixon a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Briana , thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

I feel like I’ve experienced several miracles in my life so a lot of my optimism comes from that. Things always seem to work out when and how they need to. Even with the challenges I faced when first starting my business, I feel were for the best. I launched and it seemed like clients were falling into my lap initially, then I was forced to face one of my biggest fears of being scammed by a “client”. But I learned a lot from that and a lot of the fears I had kind of dissolved. I strangely became more confident in what I have to offer as a businesswoman as well. Another source of my optimism is the fact that we truly have no idea what’s possible and what’s not. There’s so much we as humans don’t know and so much that our minds can’t event comprehend. I think about that often.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Hi, I’m Briana, Bri for short, and I’m the founder and owner of Breathe Easy Digital Marketing. We offer marketing and sales copywriting and content writing/content creation services that aim to increase profits for companies by way of refined marketing and branding strategies. Our holistic, connection-focused approach sets us apart and helps with finding unique ways to turn current and prospective customers into loyal supporters.

I incorporated my love for wellness and experience as a yoga teacher into my brand to let clients know that we genuinely care about helping them in their business and beyond. We want them to feel lighter and like they can Breathe easier while working with us and after services are delivered.

The idea to start this business came from my background in marketing and sales. I started in 2017, with a marketing internship and have since been providing strategic and effective marketing to various large and small businesses. I decided to branch out and start my own thing because most companies care about profits more than people when it should be the other way around. Unpopular opinion, maybe, but I think when you actually care about people, just as much, if not more profit will come anyway.

That said, I’m dedicated to maintaining an empathy-based business where clients and employees feel as valued and loved as possible. The world is a little too soulless for me, so I’m being the change I want to see.

Lastly, I am working on something new in my business, which will be a series of digital products. The first one is an ebook that guides people on writing high-converting copy for their business or other businesses and on getting copywriting clients. I plan to release it on or before February 1st, so check out Breatheeasydigitalmarketing.com to be on the lookout for that.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The skills of quickly building rapport with people, writing, and being able to see things from multiple perspectives have been most impactful. Establishing rapport increases the chance of success in marketing and sales because it builds trust which is essential. It helps to be genuinely trustworthy as well though. The fact that I naturally gravitated towards writing at a young age and stayed with it throughout my life was extremely helpful when I decided to become a copywriter/content writer. And seeing things from multiple perspectives makes it easier for me to look at situations the way a customer or prospect might. It also allows me to have more consideration and compassion for people. For anyone looking to improve these skills, the best way to approach the first two is practice. Write and talk with people you don’t really know as much as you can. For the last one, I think emotional intelligence is a big factor, so finding ways to improve on that, if needed, would be ideal.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

The concepts in “The Formula: The Universal Laws of Success” have been significant parts of my journey. It discussed that the more you show up and put yourself out there, the greater your chance of success becomes. It’s also helpful to show off your personality because while skills do matter, that’s not always what gets people through the door. For example, when multiple people with similar skill levels are interviewed for a job, the interviewer might use something like a funny joke or a shirt color they liked to make the final decision since all of the candidates are well qualified. Sometimes it’s just about right place, right time, but for the ones who keep going they will inevitably land in the right place at the right time. So my biggest takeaway is to keep showing up with full confidence in who I am and what I can do. Keep making myself visible so the right eyes can find me.
