Meet Nancy Torres

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nancy Torres. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nancy below.

Nancy, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from my unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and the purpose He has placed on my heart. Running BWG Jewelry is not just a business venture for me—it’s a calling. My faith reminds me that every challenge, setback, or moment of doubt is an opportunity for growth and a testament to God’s plan for my life. Knowing that I’m doing this for His glory keeps me grounded and determined, even in the face of obstacles.

I also draw resilience from my personal journey. Growing up, I faced struggles with self-worth and confidence, which taught me the importance of perseverance and trusting in God’s timing. Those experiences shaped who I am today and gave me a deeper understanding of what it means to overcome and thrive.

Finally, my family and my vision for BWG Jewelry fuel my resilience. I want to create a legacy not just for my family’s financial stability but also as a platform to inspire others, spread the Word of God, and make a positive impact in people’s lives. This larger mission helps me stay focused, no matter how tough the road gets.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

At BWG Jewelry, I create elegant, high-quality jewelry designed to empower women to feel confident, beautiful, and glamorous every day. Our pieces are crafted with care using 18k gold-plated stainless steel and 925 sterling silver, paired with dazzling 5A or 8A cubic zirconia stones. They’re hypoallergenic, tarnish-free, water-resistant, and durable, making them perfect for daily wear and special occasions alike.

What excites me most about BWG Jewelry is the ability to connect with women on a deeper level. Each piece is more than an accessory—it’s a reminder of self-worth, faith, and beauty. I believe jewelry has the power to uplift and inspire, and I love knowing that our designs bring joy and confidence to those who wear them.

Something unique about BWG Jewelry is that it’s rooted in my Christian faith and dedicated to Jesus Christ. My mission is not just to sell jewelry but also to inspire and make a positive impact. I aim to share the Word of God through my work and to remind others of their value and purpose, whether they’re a customer or simply a part of our community.

I’m also excited to share that we’ll soon be adding permanent jewelry to our offerings, allowing customers to create timeless, personalized pieces that they can wear every day. Additionally, I’ve transformed my home office into a welcoming storefront where customers can shop in person until we’re able to move into a brick-and-mortar store. This setup gives you a chance to experience our jewelry up close, connect with the heart of the brand, and find the perfect piece in a cozy, intimate space.

We also participate in pop-up events, which are a fantastic way to experience our jewelry in person and connect directly with me and the heart of the brand. I’m excited about continuing to grow BWG Jewelry and sharing both the beauty of our designs and the message behind them with even more women.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey with BWG Jewelry have been faith, resilience, and a commitment to quality and learning. Each of these has shaped the way I approach my business and overcome challenges.

1. Faith

My Christian faith has been the foundation of everything I do. It keeps me grounded, provides clarity in difficult times, and reminds me of the bigger purpose behind my work. Faith has given me the courage to take risks, trust the process, and stay aligned with my mission, even when things feel uncertain.
Advice: For anyone starting out, stay connected to your “why.” Whether it’s faith, passion, or a mission close to your heart, let that guide your decisions and keep you motivated during tough times.

2. Resilience

Building a business comes with inevitable challenges—financial concerns, doubts, setbacks, and obstacles. Resilience has allowed me to push through those moments, learn from them, and come back stronger. Knowing that challenges are temporary and part of the journey has been key to my growth.
Advice: Don’t let setbacks define you. Learn to see them as opportunities to grow and adapt. Surround yourself with people who support you and remind you of your purpose when things get hard.

3. Commitment to Quality and Learning

From the beginning, I’ve been committed to offering high-quality, durable jewelry that aligns with my values. I’ve also prioritized learning—whether it’s improving my craft, understanding my customers, or navigating marketing strategies. Staying curious and committed to growth has been essential in making BWG Jewelry stand out.
Advice: Never stop learning. Take the time to refine your skills, research your industry, and listen to your customers. Quality and authenticity will set you apart, so always focus on providing the best experience you can.

For those early in their journey, my biggest advice is to stay patient and trust the process. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but with faith, resilience, and a commitment to growth, you’ll build something meaningful and lasting.
