We were lucky to catch up with Terrence Nix recently and have shared our conversation below.
Terrence , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Everything I know about strength and resilience comes from my mother she was a single parent and she grew up in harshest of times so from early age, I knew what it took to be successful. And it takes strength and resilience to do so., I thank my mother for that attribute.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
At heart I’m a writer I write movies, books, music, etc Since I started my company Sodafree Entertainment back in 2006 in Rockford, Illinois I have been focused on artist and getting there music to the masses . We are currently partnering with artist A.Ivy , Rockstar Wavv , and Don C. These artist are special talents you will be hearing from soon. The joys of music start in the studio for me. Making if the song all the way to the promotion of the project is a joy for me. The goal for my company is to showcase our artist in a way that lets the public see them for exactly who they are. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities you have is to listen learn and be direct. You gotta be able to listen to the knowledge that’s spoken to you. You gotta be able to ask questions. You gotta be direct with what you want ,you gotta be direct with how you get things done pertaining to your artist. Have passion for it. So my advice to anybody that’s coming up in this game is this make sure you have a passion for it cause it’s gonna hurt and that’s what passion is. That’s what you gotta have.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Collaborations is what I do best . Collaborations with other artist is my specialty. I love putting artists together, writing songs with them and putting them out and making hits. I love collaborations with businesses, weather it’s mom and pop businesses or fortune 500 businesses. I love directing and writing their commercials.
