Nikkita , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
I have learned to be effective and successful with networking in many diverse environment within the firearms industry. My company Cute & Cocky is the only minority owned holster company in the USA. Most firearm related events and groups are primarily are attended by Caucasian, about 2 % are African American and 1% are women. I have learned to respect everyone but most importantly put business first. Any bias in business can be stunt growth of your business or cause issues when collaborating. The easiest way to overcome these obstacles is to be friendly, smile and be understanding of things we do have in common.

My name is Nikkita Gordon, I am the founder of Cute & Cocky. I graduated from the University of West Georgia where I studied Business and Marketing. I was stalked and harassed as a student by a suspect sexual offender and this lead me to become a firearm owner and focus on personal safety. At the time Concealed Carry was a new topic for me. Now my company has designed and manufactured multiple on and off body concealed carry holsters for women and law enforcement nationally. We recently release our Car Holsters at the 2023 Rick Ross Car & Bike Show. We work with women locally and nationally to educate them on Situational Awareness and Firearm Safety alongside promoting our products. Our unique holsters have been voted Top NEW WOMEN HOLSTER SELECTIONS OF 2023-2024. Our company provides an inclusive training experience for all backgrounds with our concealed carry hoodie, sew in apparel holster and tactical holsters
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My most important areas of knowledge has been, Marketing, Advertising and fundraising. These are the most important to any small business and should be maintain to have constant growth.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
We would love to work with Law Enforcement for Product development and community trainings to bring more awareness to firearm safety and our product lines.
We also have reached out to shooting groups to invite us out for training and boothing at their shooting events nationally.
Our long term goals include establishing partnership with firearm industry brands to merge or collaborate with in the future
