We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful RaJahnique Stevens. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with RaJahnique below.
Hi RaJahnique, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?
Taking time out for my own self care has helped me and my business significantly. Its helps to reduce stress and boost my mood & energy. Self care can be anything that makes you feel good in opinion. Things like planning for the week and upcoming appointments allow me to better manage challenges and enhance my focus. Some chamomile tea & a warm blanket is good enough self care too.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As a certified brow technician, I focus on enhancing the appearance of eyebrows through various techniques and treatments. Some of the services my business provides are common brow grooming techniques like waxing, threading and razor clean up. I also semi-permanent and permanent services like brow tinting, henna and microshading (ombré brows). I truly love all my clients because they always believe in me and constantly push me to want more for my business. My role requires a lot of artistic skill and knowledge of beauty trends while providing great customer service and communication. It means a lot to me that my clients trust me & judgement to giving them their best brows and a confidence boost.
With 2025 just starting, I have so many things planned for the year. I will be running a special every month and I’m looking for more brand ambassadors.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three things that have impacted my journey are training, networking and customer service. Starting a business is very difficult, especially when you’re providing a service. Putting a price on your skills is not as easy as it may seem. I had to learn how to capitalize off my talents and also understand that there was always room for improvements. Becoming certified helped my brand a lot because it shows that I’m qualified in what I do. Networking has helped me to build relationships with other beauty professionals and potential clients. Its also allows me to better market my business directly to them.
Good customer service has taught me that it’s all about the experience you give your customers. You can be good at what you do but it’s all about how you present yourself and your brand. I take pride in making sure my clients are comfortable and feel pampered.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My mom has always been the most helpful. She’s always willing to letting me try new techniques on her and she helps me to keep up with the trends
