Meet Carl Carlito Windom

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Carl Carlito Windom. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Carl Carlito, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I develop confidence and self esteem by believing in myself, my skills and keeping a great foundation/circle. When taking on a new venture, it’s important to believe in yourself. As you rise in your journey, you develop and learn skills that help you remain knowledgeable & credible in your field. Your confidence and the way you shape your life depends on the company you keep in your life. If you’re grounded spiritually, you’ll learn to tell the difference between a supporter & an enemy. It’s not about the quantity of your circle, it’s about the quality of your circle & how they should uplift you in a positive direction. Believe in yourself, your knowledge & watch the company you keep..

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Professionally I am currently focused on Wellness Health in Dance & Yoga, Choreography & Creativity, Performing, Acting & becoming a brand. I want people to be inspired by my talents, but I want to use that platform to help others too. I work with multiple events & projects in choreography including Theater, Film, Quinces, Weddings, & gyms.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The 3 tools that are most impactful on my journey include: being outspoken, being prepared & networking.
When it comes to teaching or performing in entertainment & business, be outspoken (but respectful). You have to stand in what you believe & if something feels “off” speak up, so you can feel “on”. Always feel free to collaborate with others, but believe in your vision!!!
You should be prepared to audition/teach, compete & communicate at all times. If you are teaching a class or skill, always be knowledgeable & prepared. If you don’t have an answer right away, find it so you won’t catch yourself not being prepared next time.
If I had any MAIN advice to someone, it’s to network. In this field, it’s important to maintain or grow relationships with new & old people. Be authentic & loyal, but do what works best for you as some business relationships can outgrow each other. Find your tribe/team that will help you execute your goals & expand your brand. Also, be nice to those who support you. Your supporters are always to be treated with kindness & respect.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

A current challenge I am facing & continue to face is envy. We often talk about when business goes great, or reaching new goals but we leave out the envious attitude it can cause in people.
In the age of social media, people compete & compare success. In most cases, we see the glory in likes, attention & success but we miss the mark on how it may make others feel. Protecting your mental health is important, and don’t get caught up in the hype or the “noise”. Everyone won’t like everything & that’s ok, if you are proud of your work, that’s all that matters…
