Meet Karina Bik

We recently connected with Karina Bik and have shared our conversation below.

Karina, thank you so much for making time for us today. We’re excited to discuss a handful of topics with you, but perhaps the most important one is around decision making. The ability to make decisions is a key requirement for anyone who wants to make a difference and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your decision-making skills.

I use tools like the Eisenhower Matrix (Do, Decide, Delegate, Delete) for delegating and getting rid of tasks, and I also really like the book Getting Things Done by David Allen. Both were life-savers for me professionally!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My name is Karina Bik and I’m a fashion, beauty and luxury lifestyle creator based in New York with over 700k followers!

I attend different fashion weeks and events all over the world, and I love bringing the newest styles and creations from the runways directly to people’s living rooms!

I’m also very into beauty and perfume, and I’m always trying new releases and sharing my favorites with my audience!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Networking as much as humanly possible has been invaluable in my career. Something as simple as just being willing to invite people you admire for coffee, learn from them, and keep the connection warm is a massively underrated skill. Everybody gets embarrassed when the time comes to invite a mentor or role model, but successful people are frequently voracious learners and love staying on the pulse of an industry, so you’d be surprised how often they say yes.
2. Following pages that you like and trying to analyze what you like about the content/creators, as well as the type of format that they’re using.
3. Keeping current with music, fashion, and other creator trends is also highly important. Know what’s trending from Netflix to Instagram so you can incorporate this knowledge in your content and be a source of news for people daily.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

For creators, it’s always important to collaborate and cross-pollinate audiences, and this is one of the best and easiest ways grow your followings. The best scenario for this is if the content is similar or in the same niche so the people following your collaborator will be more potentially drawn to your page.
