Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Krystal Anaís Amaya Navarro. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Krystal Anaís with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
Thank you for having me! I get my work ethic from my Mother, and Father. I had the opportunity of watching them start and grow a business at a young age – subsequently witnessing how much faith, dedication, and sweat it took to reach financial success. Incredibly so, they successfully manifested all of their desires into this realm, starting off with nothing – and in this – I gained solid proof that anything was possible – you just have to go for it! There is a moment in particular that left an immense impression on me – my Father taught me a divine lesson of humility and gratitude with work. I complained to him about cleaning once, and he told me that all work is “God’s Work”, and that he – at a young age – found joy in the simplest of tasks, like sweeping. You see, my Father’s father passed away early on in his life, so he at the age of twelve started to provide for his mother and four sisters. And my Mother was expected to work at a young age, because she was the oldest. So, they matured rather quickly, and became self-sufficient rapidly. And throughout their experience – during hardships, and success, they’ve remained grounded in gratitude for all that they have – especially for – what may be the simplest of things – food, shelter, and water. Isn’t that eye opening? Every time I find myself stressing out, or feeling far away from my goals – I give thanks for food, shelter, and water – because they’re the utmost important blessings.
So Ultimately, I have both of them in me – thank God! For I give thanks for my work, and am aware of the large magnitude of possibility – and carry the unwillingness to stop manifesting my dreams/ideas into reality – no matter how many “No’s” I get. And, have an abundant amount of gratitude for all that I have had, have, and will have. May they inspire you to do/feel just the same!
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Sure! It’s not everyday that someone wants to dig deep into Krystal – so, thank you for your interest. Don’t sexualize the previous sentence, please.
I’m an Indigenous/Mexican/American/Cowgirl/Privileged Princess. I grew up in a Hacienda with animals as friends – had the most hilarious, hard working, passionate set of parents/siblings a girl could wish for. And, when I obtained the blessing of my Parents to pursue a career in Acting – because I’m the luckiest girl – I WENT FOR IT! So, I went to a Conservatory in the very cold and fun New York. There I solidified my seriousness and dedication to acting and creation. However, I was a part of the “But Then Covid Happened” group – as I graduated in 2020. So, all of the amazing opportunities that had presented themselves to me left, and I relocated back home. It was meant to be though. Because, my Mother blessed me with the opportunity to take a year off to discover and heal myself. By this point, you should believe it when I say I am the luckiest girl. My parents rented an apartment for me, in beautiful Silver Lake and I turned it into a hermitage. During this time, I grew closer to so much depth, and wisdom within me – to God. And, I grew to be so enamored with God(I still am) that I wanted to devote myself and serve in an ashram. However, God – specifically a Nun – said “No.”
After falling into an intense depression due to lack of earthly interest, and my Father’s horrific and sudden passing – I have now returned to Los Angeles, and am producing my work……
Currently, I’m working on an E.P, a T.V Pilot, and a Feature Film.
I’m super excited about producing these projects – because they all have the intent to shine light on minorities and heal wounds – by shining light onto me and my heart, a place of immense love, and truth – a place that’s been harmed, and healed.
For example, the E.P is a narrative of an angel who is in Heaven, and falls into Hell then discovers Heaven on Earth. It’s representative of the experience of falling in love, and the abuse of it that one may endure from another person, and/or from themselves. It’s based on my personal experience of losing my innoccence after dating boys who did not reciprocate my love, but tried to possess it – forcing me to leave and rediscover myself – as I lost touch mith my reality – which was Hell.
The T.V Pilot, “Ahora Qúe” is super funny! It’s about a young contrarian who lives in East LA. She’s trying to mind her own business, and get out of the city for a “better life” – but East LA won’t let her go easily, nor does Luc – her neighbor from across the street. He’s the city’s biggest “fuck boy”, and she’s not interested in him, so…
The Feature Film dun dun dun: is fire. It’s called “CASA FUEGO”, and it’s brilliant. I’M 100% BEING BIASED. It’s about a clairvoyant Latinx family, living in a Haunted Hacienda, who are fiery, and distinctly attractive/unique in their own way. They set fire to the house! You’ll have to wait and see how and why. Wink wink.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Presence. Looking back – I wish I was more present with myself, others, and experiences.
Faith. I always knew that things would work out – but I wish that I lived like things were going to work out.
Love. I love so much! I wish I normalized love as a kid, and had the understanding that it was special – and a gift to have such an open heart. And also have the knowledge of the importance and necessity of loving myself, first.
Wisdom. Again, I wish I had the wisdom of knowing how to exist with my open heart at an earlier age. What I know now: is that being/feeling safe is the key to loving unconditionally. And, again loving your inner/outer self first and foremost, is important.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
