We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sierra Thomas. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sierra below.
Hi Sierra , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic is deeply rooted in what I witnessed growing up. My mom was a single parent, and I watched her juggle work, school, and motherhood without ever missing a beat. No matter how much she had on her plate, she always made sure I was her priority—taking care of me when I was sick, showing up for every school function, and making sacrifices to give me the best life possible. Seeing her resilience, dedication, and unwavering commitment to both her goals and our family instilled in me the same drive. That’s why I approach my work with the same level of commitment and determination—to show up fully, give my best, and never lose sight of what truly matters.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m Sierra, the founder of Touche Financial Solutions, where I provide financial management, advisory services, and coaching to help business owners gain clarity and confidence in their finances. My journey started in corporate accounting, but I quickly realized my passion was in helping entrepreneurs, particularly those in the healthcare space, navigate the complexities of financial management. That passion led me to create a boutique, high-touch financial services firm that goes beyond traditional bookkeeping—we focus on financial strategy, operational efficiency, and long-term growth.
What excites me most about my work is seeing the transformation in my clients. Many come to me feeling overwhelmed and uncertain, and through our work together, they gain not just financial structure but a renewed sense of control over their business. I love bridging the gap between financial strategy and business operations, showing my clients that financial success isn’t just about numbers—it’s about creating a business that supports their long-term goals and lifestyle.
In addition to my financial services, I also host the Balanced Insights podcast, where I dive into conversations about how business owners can find balance in their professional and personal lives. In 2025, I’m expanding the podcast’s focus to explore everything from business efficiency to health and wellness, helping entrepreneurs create a more sustainable approach to success.
As for what’s next, I’m launching a premium financial coaching program that blends my expertise in accounting with my certification in business coaching. This program is designed for business owners who want to go beyond the numbers and build a strong financial foundation that supports their growth. I’m also refining my service offerings to better serve healthcare professionals, providing them with the financial structure and insights they need to scale their practices.
Ultimately, my goal is to continue making an impact by helping business owners shift from financial stress to financial empowerment. I want them to not only understand their numbers but use them as a tool to create a thriving, balanced business.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, three key qualities have been the most impactful in my journey: resilience, financial acumen, and strategic problem-solving.
Resilience – Entrepreneurship is full of highs and lows, and resilience is what has kept me going. I’ve faced challenges, moments of doubt, and times when I had to pivot, but I’ve learned that setbacks are just setups for comebacks. My advice? Develop a mindset that embraces challenges as learning opportunities. Surround yourself with a strong support system, stay rooted in your “why,” and don’t be afraid to adapt when necessary.
Financial Acumen – Numbers tell a story, and understanding them is crucial for long-term success. My corporate accounting background gave me a strong foundation, but transitioning to entrepreneurship required a new level of financial literacy—one that not only involved managing my own business finances but also educating my clients. For those early in their journey, I recommend prioritizing financial literacy. Whether it’s through courses, mentorship, or working with a professional, understanding your numbers will empower you to make informed business decisions.
Strategic Problem-Solving – In business, things rarely go exactly as planned, so being able to assess a situation and find a solution is key. From structuring financial systems to advising clients on operational challenges, my ability to think strategically has been invaluable. My advice? Strengthen your critical thinking skills. Ask questions, analyze different perspectives, and get comfortable making decisions based on data and insight rather than emotion.
The biggest takeaway I can offer is never stop learning. Invest in your growth, seek mentorship, and remain adaptable. Success isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about staying committed to the journey and continuously evolving.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
One of the biggest challenges I’m currently facing is scaling my business while maintaining a high-touch, premium level of service. As my client base grows, I want to ensure that I continue delivering the same level of personalized attention and strategic insight that sets Touche Financial Solutions apart. At the same time, I’m balancing my role as both a financial expert and a business coach, which requires a lot of energy and focus.
To overcome this, I’m actively working on streamlining processes, implementing automation where possible, and exploring the option of bringing in support staff. I’ve started integrating tools like Asana for project management and client communication, which has helped create more structure and efficiency in my workflow. Additionally, I’m refining my service offerings to ensure I’m working with the right clients—those who truly align with my expertise and who will benefit the most from my advisory services.
I’ve also learned that delegation is key. I’m looking at where I can outsource certain tasks so I can focus more on high-level strategy and client relationships. Most importantly, I’m staying intentional about protecting my time and energy, making sure that as I grow, I do so in a way that aligns with my values and long-term vision.
Scaling a business is a challenge, but I see it as an opportunity to refine my approach, create more impact, and build something sustainable for the future.
