Meet Kristin Sapp

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kristin Sapp. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Kristin, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

That’s a great question! Personally, I believe resilience is both inherent and developed through experiences, both positive and negative. I’ve always considered myself a resilient person, and I think that comes from being part of a family with a strong sense of optimism. To me, optimism and resilience go hand in hand. Having a positive outlook and believing that things will work out — or that I’ll find a way to navigate challenges — naturally drives me to seek solutions and push through difficult situations.

I also believe resilience is built by pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone. Throughout my life, my family has always been there for me, encouraging me to take on new challenges, even when they felt intimidating or uncomfortable. The courage to simply try — and the lessons learned from both successes and setbacks — reveals just how much more you’re capable of. It also shows you that you’re far stronger than you might have realized.

My father passed away when I was 16. In that moment, there was no “looking on the bright side” — it was a pain I never wanted to endure. But surviving that profound loss taught me something invaluable: I was strong enough to not just survive, but to eventually thrive again, even after something so devastating. It shaped my belief that I can handle whatever comes my way, no matter how big or difficult it may seem.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I own and operate Orange Lotus Hot Yoga and Fitness. We know that heat is one of the best tools for transformation and provides a wide range of benefits which is why we utilize it. We also know yoga & fitness are more powerful when experienced in a supportive, encouraging community.
Our classes offer individuals the opportunity to grow personally while building strength, confidence, and resilience. The strength developed in our classes extends beyond the studio, positively impacting all areas of life. The most rewarding part of my job is witnessing people unlock their true potential. It’s an honor to help empower others to feel confident and powerful enough to live the life they truly want.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Trusting myself
Determination
Courage

Advice? Have a clear vision of what you want and then surround yourself with people successful at what you want to do and learn from them.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

I practice yoga to reconnect with myself and quiet the noise around me—it’s a complete reset. After each class, I always feel grounded, clear-headed, and more confident. My best advice when you’re feeling overwhelmed? Take a moment to pause, reconnect with yourself, slow down, and breathe.
